I agree that a more experienced Tommy will help this year and him picking up some key yardage on the ground at times will help. But as we've all said, it's really going to come down to if the OL is improved from last year.  Once we got inside the 20 last year it was tough sledding for us on the ground. If it's 3rd and 1 from the 8 yard line, can we pound it up the middle for a first down, or do we have to run a trick play to pick up that one yard like last year.

Even if our OL is the same as last year we should still have a good season. The only way we don’t make the playoffs is if we choke, not because we don’t have a good team. Honestly our short yardage plays can’t get any worse…

If the OL doesn't get any better than last year, yes we can still have a good year.  The margin for error drops significantly though.  If we weren't on our backup kicker and if we didn't fumble late in 4th quarter last year could have been playoffs, so we could replicate that season but don't choke those crucial plays.   If NDSU had 4th and 1 late in the game in that situation, they run it right up the gut and pick up that 1st down 95% of the time and game is over.  We run a trick play...and boom, game over the other direction.  Life is SO much easier when you can just consistently pick up short yardage when you need to.

Our OL will likely be one of the youngest in the conference.  If we can go at least 3-2 and then make the playoffs, they will have 11 games under their belt and should hopefully improve during the year and possibly make us a dangerous team in the playoffs.....if we can get there.

Talking about trash, McFooly was trashing UND and SDSU indoor performance facilities because they have tracks in them and were bragging that the Ag U one does not because it is a “football first facility”……. So much for your facilities being used to the benefit of the entire university! Let alone to mens and womens athletics. Funny thing thing is one of the big reasons they haven’t been invited to make a jump is because their other programs are still stuck in basement while football gets the Cadillac facilities.

McFooly is such a tool, he is no ally of UND!

first and biggest reason for a lack of a higher invite...............................LOCATION. AND BUILDING AN INDOOR PRACTICE FACILITY 20 YEARS TOO LATE AINT FIXING ANYTHING

On Doms 8/9 show, to be fair he said UND could be a good team this year and make the playoffs if we beat UNI. Of course UND always comes up when they talk Bison….

Not trying to be fair when he doesn’t say good things about Und

him and mcfooley are click baiters , I usually don’t listen to him but was going thru tv channels and UND schedule was on the screen so I listened in.

would like to see more sports coverage in Grand Forks somehow

360's D-Line preview Kelly called it the deepest group on the team. Very high praise for the unit from them.

I like that they are thinking a little out of the box and tinkering with putting Orlando or Beech as DE sometimes if some teams are just trying to power run it down our throats.  Looks like Mcnaboe will likely start at one DE, he is only 240....pretty easy for him to get pushed around by 300 lb lineman.

Guy has a good motor, but he's the size a good Middle Linebacker. Ratelle was that size wasn't he?

WOW you are delusional - have you looked at our SB, BB, indoor track, outdoor track, Baseball venues?  Yours is the school that concentrates on 1 sport.  Look where ALL your sports placed last year, all in the bottom of the conference, yet your AD gets an extension.

Oh get over yourself. UND competes in all their sports and has an expanding facility plan. Fargo Ag U doesn’t even offer college hockey nor do they have a top hockey facility, so by default, you have no grounds to even argue.

Not sure how not having a hockey program makes someone’s observations irrelevant to a discussion about facilities, but ok.

His point stands though, it is completely false to say NDSU doesn’t have competitive facilities outside of the football program. Basketball, baseball, track and wrestling all have seen massive improvements in their facilities in the last 15-20 years.

It’s apples to oranges. Ag U doesn’t even need to worry about hockey facilities. UND offers hockey facilities PLUS football facilities and basketball/volleyball facilities.

Flagship.

But this is 2022 *UND* football thread, carry on.

I don’t know why they don’t just open up the dumpster fire thread so we can vent there instead, sorry for derailing us!

Anybody with a good memory that has looked at the available tickets around this time in years past. How does this year look compared to other years? It appears to me that there aren't as many available as I would have normally thought.

Is this correct?

  • Student tickets: 210-212
  • Opposing tickets: Top of 218
  • Season Tickets: I clicked on buy season tickets and although you could pick most sections there weren't that many seats available

Outside of opposing tickets being given back, would there be any other large groups of tickets that would become available? Ticket sales seem to be pretty strong.
