Will Nashville happen? Somebody must have an idea to this coming season's game plans. I know that Chaves said that they are going ahead as scheduled, but I haven't heard at what capacity of fans will be allowed to attend. Until they announce otherwise, everything is planned to go ahead as normal. Quote

I believe that they have stated that they will not (or at least don't want to) make a decision on Nashville until closer to fall. Quote
Sodbuster Posted June 9, 2020 Posted June 9, 2020 WDAY just had a story on UND getting back on the ice this week on a limited basis. Quote

AlphaMikeFoxtrot Posted June 16, 2020 Posted June 16, 2020 Word is BCHL games will be in person for STH only. Curious if the Ralph is exploring the same approach. Quote
Sweethockey Posted June 17, 2020 Posted June 17, 2020 I wonder why Pinto wasn't invited to the World Junior Showcase. He still young enough isn't he? Quote

Rebel_Sioux Posted July 1, 2020 Posted July 1, 2020 Not sure if this is addressed elsewhere and I just missed it, but the Gophers are pushing for Big Joke expansion again. https://thesportsdaily.com/2020/07/01/hes-back-4-g1w1/amp/?__twitter_impression=true Quote
tnt Posted July 2, 2020 Posted July 2, 2020 I thought Illinois was ready to announce that they would start up hockey. Would guess they could find another one or two besides them eventually. UND would have to have assurances that if charter members take up hockey they wouldn’t be the odd man out. 1 Quote
Popular Post Blackheart Posted July 2, 2020 Popular Post Posted July 2, 2020 i get the $$$ part of moving to the Big Mistake, but leaving the top conference in the country would be quite an adjustment. I don't even care that Minnesota isn't in the same conference as UND any more. They moved and look what has happened to them; they can't sell out a home game against anyone. Gofer hockey; social distancing since 2013! 7 Quote

Gofer hockey; social distancing since 2013! UND is in a position of power in any negotiation that would happen. The B1G needs UND, not the other way around. If they do go, it better be for guaranteed annual money. I still don't like it. The NCHC is self-sustaining at this point and is the premiere college hockey conference. It's where every new school wants to join and every current school in the footprint wants to join. If UMN and Wisco weren't forced to stay in the B1G, they'd be trying to join the conference as well. 1 6 Quote

If no I’m having a tough time understanding how this would be good for und considering both the NCHC exit fee and how this would negatively affect the teams left in the NCHC Quote

While it would be great to have UW and UMinn back as conference rivals, I just don't like the idea of rewarding people like B Alvarez and turning our backs on loyalties with programs like DU and UMD. 10 Quote

Big Green Posted July 2, 2020 Posted July 2, 2020 IMO it comes down to getting enough money to support the other Athletic programs at UND. Most other D1 programs do this with their Football program. At UND we need to do this with our Hockey Program. If they get a Butt load of money and assurance they will not get kicked out once Illinois joins I say go for it. Otherwise stay in the NCHC. Personally I would be shocked if they would offer a bunch of money to join as the Big Ten is too argent and could care less about hockey. 3 Quote
AJS Posted July 2, 2020 Posted July 2, 2020 First off, neither actually needs each other. If given the opportunity and the $ was right, UND would jump at the opportunity. Quote

gfhockey Posted July 2, 2020 Posted July 2, 2020 NCHC is sustaining cause of us und fans we need to be the big brother to big ten and help them out and get their conference back on track Quote
