Also Orlando barbell rows 315 for reps… that is freakshow stuff

I have been waiting for him to step it up.  State wrestler with that strength.  He will be a short yardage killer.  Pushing both center and RB backwards.

Kauppinen benches 365 to break the all time safety record. Peterson benches 315 to break the all time kicker record.

New Juco kid Braden Bryant benching 455 as well, the guy is a hoss.

Could we please have it all come together this year. I so desperately want to see this team have some serious success. Spring '21 was so much fun. Fall '21 had so many close moments and what ifs and what could have been moments.

I guess I'm just ready for some football.

every year buba has 1 or 2 or 3 "senior moments" that cost us a game...those normally don't go away or diminish as age progresses?

if we see him punt on 2nd down it's time to have "the talk"

This is such a lazy take.
All coaches make calls fans don't agree with.
Some work, some don't. But it is pretty easy for fans to "forget" the ones that worked ended up working out for the team and rely on hindsight to show how "right" they were on the ones that didn't. Not to mention constantly beating a dead horse after the fact...

down 3 scores in a playoff game with about 8 minutes left.......

going for with the lead on your own 25....

double triple reverses when you only need a couple yards to salt the game

timeouts before you run a play after halftime....

Not necessary a lazy take in the context of what it will take to get us to the next level.  If Bubba doesn't get better as a game manager we won't make the jump.  Sadly, in my opinion, based on his body of work Bubba will not change or improve.  And it's not just calls fans don't agree with - some are horrible mistakes that almost no one not named Bubba agrees with.

ONE of those was directly Bubba's fault.

Does he get credit for the Deion Harris INT that won the game vs NAU and got UND their first Big Sky title?

Scoff! Failed plays are all on coach. Positive plays are all on player. You should know this by now. (sarc.)  :D

Not sure where to put this, but NCAA has changed the recruiting rule limit.

Now instead of 25 max each year the number is unlimited while maintaining the 85 limit/ team.

So, if a team has 30 players leave in a year due to graduation or Transfer Portal, it can sign 30 players.

Guessing it will have an even bigger impact as well.
85 is scholarships.
Roster limit is 110, as of the first day of class/first game. After that I think it goes up even further or the limit disappears.
I would expect this means you'll see a lot more PWO offers by the FBS schools and them being more aggressive in cutting "dead weight" in the upper class ranks. Not to mention gives the more room for transfer portal players.

Get to the BYE no worse than 4-2.

If they can do that, they will be in very good shape for the playoffs.

Win the two home games, split the 4 road games.

https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/rankings/fcs-coaches-poll/

@Nebraska - Loss

#25 - Northern Iowa - Must win

@Northern Arizona - Must win

#17 - @Southern Illinois -

#14 - Missouri State - Must win

@Youngstown State - Must win

#5 - South Dakota State -

Abilene Christian - Win

@Indiana State - Win

#20 - vs South Dakota

#1 - @North Dakota State -

Based on information today, UND needs to go to SIU with 2 wins.  After last fall, its not hard to see UND hosting Abilene Christian with 5 losses.  On the flip side, get the offense going out of the gate, the defense fills the holes, and we could be hosting Missouri State with 3 wins.  Wish it was September already.

How Did UND Grade Out In The Portal? - UND Football 360

I know this has already been posted in the Transfer Portal topic, but my response is more appropriate for here.

Very good read. My main reason for optimism after last Fall was the low turnover on the lines. To reiterate, you lose from Fall to Spring

  • D-Line:
    • Seguin (Starter)
    • Lickfeldt
    • Hudson (True Freshman)
  • O-Line:
    • Ghadaksaz (Starter)
    • Waletzko (Starter)
    • Langstaff

That's not nothing of course, but replacing 6 total is relatively low.

In Coaches defense, UND showed consistently last year that they didn't have the OL that could get them the couple yards needed in situations where the opponent was expecting it.  See red zone stats and failed 1 yd conversion vs NDSU for one specific example of many.
