Unfortunately, it feels like, under Chaves, UND is moving from being a hockey first school to a hockey only school.

I sort of get that feeling as well, unfortunately.

Still more than enough work to be done, on and off the field.

Other than extending Bubba, I don't see this from Chaves.  Every time our football hopes get up we get this crap.  Football does it to themselves.  They need a winning, well run program to get students and the younger crowd to care.  We exist in a tough zone to build enthusiasm - any worse and they would get rid of Bubba and hopefully build something better - any better and we would be a program to watch.  But no - we are stuck on mediocre with flashes of being really good - countered by times of utter crap.  Think of the momentum if we had beaten the Bison.   Self inflicted.

We beat the Bison....except for one of the worst coaching moves I have EVER witnessed and Tommy "he just wins" throwing one right to the Bison.

You are not wrong. Kudos to fans and players; coaches … ehh … not so much

And it seems like many are on the first play of a possession so we are chasing the chains before we even run a play.

3rd and 2 --> 3rd and 7 :angry:

That too. The other one that stings is how many times have we come out to start a series after a punt or kickoff and had to call timeout before running a play or the double whammy to start a possession...call timeout, then false start.

Bubba said in the presser today he hopes to have Otis back on Saturday. He says Otis was sick all last week and hadn't practiced at all.

Anyone want to buy a bridge?  He was so sick all week he made it to a high school game on Friday night.

Quarantined at a HS football game?

Depends when his 10 days are up or he tested fine that day. I do not know the details and it really not my business. What matter is the team and if there are issues it’s usually taken care of in the locker room. All that matters is he and the team shows up Saturday ready to win.

Much more to this story than what is being reported… he apparently apologized to the team yesterday at practice.  Young man has to get things figured out

Think we all knew there was had to be more to the story. I mean not going to a game where you are playing the #4 team in the country and is one of the top RB in the nation but going to a high school football game that same night is really strange. But even if there is more to the story how many chances do you give a guy. Who is suppose to be a leader and setting an example for the rest of the young members on the team? Hopefully there is more to the story and he plays the rest of the year because he is a big part of this football team.

Bubba may have built his season on an unsound foundation.  So far this fall Otis has been nothing but a distraction.  Time for him to put up or shut up.

100% accurate. Grow up or ride off into the sunset (or your nearest HS football game).
