I would think you see how it plays out to begin. If you’re in it in the second half, go for it. Winning programs can’t just accept the L.

Looking back at the Utah State game the offense was pretty wide open. We got burned by their speed and depth in the second half.

I think a more experienced Tommy will be the difference this year.  Instead of losing games by just a few points, I think we win them by 7-14.

So which games did he think we'd lose?  (besides to NDSU)

I picked it up toward the end so I didn’t get to see most of the game predictions

he said we could be 2 and 2 after 4 games or o and 4 after 4 games depending on the northern Iowa game.

at the end he said 5 and 6 for the season

I would guess he had us losing to UNI, SIU, and Missouri State. Then losses  to NDSU, SDSU, and Nebraska. It's conceivable that happens, and especially if you are a hater......kind of like every person is other than UND fans. I think we win at least two of those games and go 7-4.

I agree.  Tommy's a winner and I think, with a couple of years experience under his belt, he's going to be more comfortable and take a big step this year.

I agree that a more experienced Tommy will help this year and him picking up some key yardage on the ground at times will help. But as we've all said, it's really going to come down to if the OL is improved from last year.  Once we got inside the 20 last year it was tough sledding for us on the ground. If it's 3rd and 1 from the 8 yard line, can we pound it up the middle for a first down, or do we have to run a trick play to pick up that one yard like last year.

Massey has us at #9 while only having a 6-5 record (counting UNI as a loss at 49%). For those of you who discount the use of computer rankings, let me point out that after the Drake game last year Massey predicted the winner of every UND game for the remainder of the season and was within a few points of the actual spread on all games with the exception of one where UND performed approximately 7 points better (SDSU) and one approximately 7 points worse (I can't recall which game).

This said, a win against UNI (49%) and a road win at Southern Illinois (44%) would do wonders for the confidence of this team and likely produce a winning and game finishing mentality that wasn't there last year.

UNI at Potato Bowl is huge. Potato Bowl is a monster for opposition to deal with. Be loud; pack the Al!

Even if our OL is the same as last year we should still have a good season. The only way we don’t make the playoffs is if we choke, not because we don’t have a good team. Honestly our short yardage plays can’t get any worse…

If the OL doesn't get any better than last year, yes we can still have a good year.  The margin for error drops significantly though.  If we weren't on our backup kicker and if we didn't fumble late in 4th quarter last year could have been playoffs, so we could replicate that season but don't choke those crucial plays.   If NDSU had 4th and 1 late in the game in that situation, they run it right up the gut and pick up that 1st down 95% of the time and game is over.  We run a trick play...and boom, game over the other direction.  Life is SO much easier when you can just consistently pick up short yardage when you need to. 

Our OL will likely be one of the youngest in the conference.  If we can go at least 3-2 and then make the playoffs, they will have 11 games under their belt and should hopefully improve during the year and possibly make us a dangerous team in the playoffs.....if we can get there.

get the students there, (and stay for,whole,game)

Talking about trash, McFooly was trashing UND and SDSU indoor performance facilities because they have tracks in them and were bragging that the Ag U one does not because it is a “football first facility”……. So much for your facilities being used to the benefit of the entire university! Let alone to mens and womens athletics. Funny thing thing is one of the big reasons they haven’t been invited to make a jump is because their other programs are still stuck in basement while football gets the Cadillac facilities.

first and biggest reason for a lack of a higher invite...............................LOCATION. AND BUILDING AN INDOOR PRACTICE FACILITY 20 YEARS TOO LATE AINT FIXING ANYTHING

Not trying to be fair when he doesn’t say good things about Und 

him and mcfooley are click baiters , I usually don’t listen to him but was going thru tv channels and UND schedule was on the screen so I listened in.

would like to see more sports coverage in Grand Forks somehow
