DNA vaccines make me nervous

Ancient (and probably not so ancient) viral DNA is a definite part of the human genome.  Started assimilating way back when, perhaps as life as we know it, began.

Or is there another reason DNA vaccines make you apprehensive?

Just got the COVID test.  Symptoms not standard COVID symptoms but had exposure at work to person who tested positive so Dr wanted test done.

They ran out of the long swabs so got a shorter one in the nose.  Hope it's as effective as the std one.

No DNA vaccine has ever made it to approval for human use...so there's that.

Man Walz is a clown. Gotta think a lot lawsuits are gonna be thrown at him from gyms, restaurants, etc. soon if they haven't already especially after seeing how it worked in Wisconsin.

I had an inspection yesterday at a nearby base.  The inspection was outside.  I walk up with no mask and was told by the GC that everyone had to wear a mask.  I asked, "why", the inspection is outside, breezy, sunny, etc...  He said that base General wanted it that way.  The General saw a contractor not wearing a mask and removed him from the base for three years.  I walk up to the area that I was to inspect and everyone there had on masks, except for the Government employee.  I had to laugh.

Is he still putting covid positive patients into nursing homes?

Even the New York governor put a stop to that.

80% of Minnesota deaths are from "long term care" facilities.

The highest percentage in the nation!

Looked it up.

There is a guaranteed way to stop covid deaths and Walz isn't doing it.

Minnesota nursing homes accept COVID-19 patients, even as deaths climb

Talk about blood on your hands.

Instead he orders people to only eat outside.

Yet the National Sports Center in Blaine MN cancelled everything thru the end of July. No ice or field leagues or tournaments. Protecting the most vulnerable.........

That fact that some are even questioning if Walz is a bigger F-up than Whitmer say it all!

went for a bike ride...by river road in egf the path curls north up to the pedestrian bridge...i was coming up behind a mom and her two kids  on bikes like me going south....a couple were walking north on the path...the lady looked up and saw 4 people coming towards her....the look on her face leads me to believe she's been watching 24 hours a day of fearporn...she scrambled up the dyke about 10 feet in sheer terror of the 4 bikers coming at her (no masks btw).

about two minutes later i was crossing river road and i noticed that egf is actually putting up signs saying the path narrows and to stay at least 6 feet apart....

To be fair, staying six feet away from somebody from EGF is a practice most should do.

If you feel comfortable sharing the info, what are your 'not standard' symptoms? Or if you feel comfortable sharing but not for the entire thread, please send me a private message.

Interestingly, everyone talks about fever, but we only saw fever in 60% of our covid patients.  Yet the recommendations are still to do temp checks at the door for anyone coming into institutions, and that certainly isn't limited to just my facility.

I send you a private message.  Thanks again to you and all the medical teams out there in the thick of it.

After having the worst Governor in the history of Governors (Dayton) I didn't think it could get any worse.  But man, is Walz trying to claim the title!!  Before it was ok for large candy stores, Walmart, Target, Home Depot, etc to be open but not smaller businesses that you are exposed to a 10th of the people of those larger stores.  Now that restaurants are gonna be open, only ones with outdoor seating are allowed and if they don't have to remain closed.  Malls are open but churches remain closed.  Someone explain his logic because everyone here in Minnesota (and around the country) is trying to figure it out!!

Heard on the radio about the outbreak at the nursing home in Mayville. They said something like 13 staff and 6 or 7 residents tested positive. Everyone was asymptomatic.  I’m really interested in hearing about the antibody testing results once it gets ramped up; and we get a much better picture of what the actual hospitalization and death percentages are.

Another 2.44M file jobless claims last week..... nothing to see here

$500 billion of potential wages, unemployment benefits and other aid sitting on the sidelines with Mnuchin until Trump can fire all of the people charged with overseeing how it's spent and funnel it into Trump org.   Nothing to see here.

I've been trying to see the logic behind the latest moves and this is the first time where I have to go and say:  I don't see it (I'm an equal opportunity ripper*, so don't accuse me of carrying a blue card or a red card).  I was fully expected to see 50% capacity in restaurants, bars, barbershops, salons. (I wasn't shocked about the churches tbh).

The only thing I can see with the restaurants is that if someone tested positive, they could go back and say: well here are all the people who were here at that time (since they are only taking reservations), so you can contact trace.**

In retrospect, we should have known something was up when the briefing was moved back an hour.  I saw this as I scrolled through twitter and this sums up nicely with the confusion: https://mailchi.mp/fluence-media/morningtake11718-2248546

Walz still has a long ways to go to get to Dayton, it would take a lot to get to that.  Given I heard that Minneapolis might make mask wearing mandatory (which I have a problem with***) and knowing that Frey leans from with the Dayton wing of the DFL, I could have seen him doing the same thing.

The ONLY thing that I will say was decent about that briefing yesterday was that they did give further guidance on what the next two phases will look like.

*Copyright the Common Man

**Now that logic goes out the window with malls open at 50% and is a very valid counterpoint destroying my attempt at logic

***I'm not against masks, but I am against making it mandatory because when you tell someone to do something, you will get more pushback and defiance (see Ohio).

With 39M unemployed that's what you bring to the table. The way these payments/checks have been distributed hasn't been without issues (ask MM) but you really need to play a different card once in awhile.

Do you ever look in the mirror and say "wow I am really an a****le"? Or does your wife just tell you that daily???

Have you seen what Spain has found with their antibody testing? They are figuring 5% of their population has been infected and their death rate per capita exceeds the US. In other words, this could suck for a long time.
