Remember the snub we got last year of not getting into the playoffs? UND Dood Posted November 15, 2016 Share Posted November 15, 2016 Aplin has been very good. And for next year and beyond, this years struggles with injuries gave lots of O-line guys important reps. And with another off season of workouts and spring ball, we should be solid for next year. The extra practices and games that come with being in the playoffs is huge also. And for those that want to bash transfers, if we didn't have him this year we wouldn't be where we are. Sometimes they work out, sometimes they don't. In Bubba's transition we needed to take a chance on a few transfers to fill gaps and this is one that was huge for us. I would guess transfers will be a lot less going forward now that Bubba has been able to start to build depth through good recruiting. Some people, or maybe it was mostly Bison folks coming on here not sure, talking badly about how many transfers we had the past couple of years just don't get it. Others are community college kids that might not have had the grades initially out of high school. Every school will pick some of those up, including the big P5 schools. We need better depth behind Studs in case he goes down...which is likely the way Rudolph calls plays during the middle of the season. Especially given how poor we were last year when teams could just chuck the ball up in the air and our guys many times wouldn't even be able to make a realistic play at the ball.
