Our offense will be able to score, it’s a matter of whether our defense can stop anything. We’ve shown slight improvement from last year, imo, but a whole lot of bending and not breaking.

that's part of the problem with our non existant walkup.......they come out of nowhwere and run around 50 yards basically in the dark and they done!!!!

For anyone going to the game, a few recommendations:

• The Boise Greenbelt is a large walking path that runs along the Boise river basically the whole way across the metro. It goes directly by the stadium - enjoy a nice walk on it.
• The downtown area is also walkable from the Stadium/campus and it's one of the cleanest, nicest downtowns you'll find. Lots of food and drinking options.
• If you have extra days, drive up highway 55 or 21 and go into the mountains. McCall and Stanley are each about 3 hours away and both are gorgeous.
• If you want a short, fun hike closer to the stadium, go to Camel's Back Park. It's a few hundred steps straight up to a great view of Boise.

I wasn't saying our rushing offense hasn't been good...but we are much more balanced and more multiple offensively now.  Our passing offense pre-Danny was much more vertically focused off of play-action (I don't recall Rudy ever calling a screen pass once during his reign in Grand Forks).  Nowadays a lot of our passing game is an extension of the running game (which makes up for the drop in yards above imo)...that said we aren't built like we used to be and one of the casualties (and there have been very few in my mind) has been the vertical passing game.  That said...with Eliador in the mix I think we'll see more of it this year than we have at any point under Danny's command of the offense.

My buddy in Boise tells me the game is a whiteout and Boise State will be wearing white throwbacks. I really hope we wear black (I hate our green jerseys with the white sleeves).

About a dozen of us will be there in UND green cheering loud!

The whole point is Wes was never streaking down the field wide open like you said. Tommy had time (nice job OL), waited for his read, got it and threw the ball when he had it. Wes was running right at the safety until he broke up to come at Bo and leave Wes that open. Sounds like it was a well designed play that was going to have two options depending on what choice the safety made. If he throws it earlier, the safety is still in position to break it up. 

There are other Qb's who have stronger arms. But most of them aren't going to make the read, have the patience to let out develop or have the accuracy to put it in a catchable spot. 

Sad that every thread becomes a defending Tommy because of a few uneducated. Tommy does so much that goes unnoticed. Examples -there are numerous snaps that are low, wide, high that he just naturally adjusts to and no one notices, swing passes are automatic (wasn't that long ago they weren't), he's hitting at 70%. He could have been playing for Ferris State (which won the last two DII championships). Losing our #1 QB recruit at the last minute, during COVID, we were very fortunate to get him and it was without an onsite visit.

When was the last time Tommy had a bad game? How often have we said "Tommy played well"? I've never seen a QB so automatic. I used to worry everytime we threw downfield, but with Tommy, when I see him air it out without me having looked downfield, I think "Oh yeah, he found someone." Never have I been more confident in a QB.

Brian Shawn does a great job explaining this in the 360 podcast. Essentially says it's nice to have the big arm guys like Day from UNI, or the mobile guys who can scramble, but what gets overlooked is the ball security and decision making.  Wouldn't you rather have 65% completion on 10-15 yard passes than 55% and 3 picks like what Day had against Weber on Saturday?

Tommy has a very high floor and a relatively low ceiling. He’s never going to blow a teams doors off but he’ll never absolutely blow a game. In fact, the only time he cost us a game was last time NDSU visited the Alerus. Do I wish he could throw the ball farther than me? Yea. But he’s more than solid at everything else.

Agreed. It is a fair statement. Dom is using it as more of a setup to say UND is not in the top of the FCS, but there is still a fair point to be made. 

Want to be compared to NDSU and SDSU, then we have to ask would they win this game against and 0-2 Boise St?

By no means does the 0-2 record mean Boise is a bad team. I think they will end up having a solid season, especially once they hit conference play, but the attitude should 100% be that we are going out their to get a win and build momentum heading to brookings.

I don't think I'd lay sole responsibility for that loss at his feet, as there were other factors in combination, such as the failed 4th and 1 attempt, that combined to turn that game into a loss.
