What’s your pleasure - swooping bird or cartoony bird? Full-body or head? Profile or down-the-beak? Wings spread? Talons out? ND or none? Simple for reproducibility or complex for aesthetics? You say it’s not rocket science, but it ain’t exactly easy, either. Dozens of people on here have debated the questions I just asked for years now and often until they were blue in the virtual face. Each question is maddeningly polarizing. I’ll save you the trouble: THERE IS NO ANSWER. NOTHING IS GOING TO MAKE EVERYONE HAPPY. THE PERFECT LOGO DOES NOT EXIST. ART IS INHERENTLY SUBJECTIVE - ALWAYS HAS BEEN, ALWAYS WILL BE. 1 5 Quote
SiouxHawkGuy Posted May 5, 2019 Posted May 5, 2019 Hawk for the academic logo? How many other schools have a separate athletic logo and academic logo? UND flame logo is decent but I think they should be one in the same.. Interlocking ND could have been used for both. 4 Quote

From Kennedy's response to the NDUS chancellor's acceptance of the “de facto notice of resignation,” did Kennedy actually put his resignation in like he said he would if he takes the job in CO? “This letter confirms that I have not resigned my position as the president of the University of North Dakota,” Kennedy wrote. “If I were to resign at some point in the future, I will provide you with written notice of my resignation.” Quote

Just curious because people seem to be complaining about money quite a bit around here. Right now, we are still using the old Division 2 funding model of Season Ticket sales, Champions Club memberships and 50/50 raffles. And that won't cut it in Division 1 athletics. We need to start thinking outside the box or we'll remain a bargain-basement/shoestring budget Division 1 school. In other words, a colder, more northern version of Arkansas-Pine Bluff. 2 Quote
BarnWinterSportsEngelstad Posted May 7, 2019 Posted May 7, 2019 Butter? Does the profit from putting butter on my popcorn go towards paying for a new scoreboard? vs. something like a raise to an assistance BB coach? Does the profit from my buying a Hawks cap go towards the effort to keeping the Hawks logo off of the hard wood or ice? vs. to some FB support? 1 Quote

The hockey-only mouthbreathers will always side with anything Engelstad and the faculty will hate a Republican who cut programs. I don't see a significant movement in the public opinion. I know several faculty on both sides of the political aisle that likely cheered. MK made few friends at UND and it has more to do with his lack of tact, transparency, and just general leadership than it does budget cuts. People can understand budget cuts. However he did so with the grace of a blind surgeon using a rusty machete who ignored everything his nurses told him. 3 Quote
