geaux_sioux
There is the potential for a lot of movement this week. If we take care of business and get losses from Nova, W Ill, The Citadel, YSU, JMU, and Poly we could move up to about #12 in this poll at least. This week is huge for us getting a seed and it all starts with a UND win in beautiful Greeley, CO.

northdakota18
Looking through the schedules of the teams ahead of us in the stats poll, these games stick out as potential losses for each team #15 Youngstown St -- @ #4 NDSU this week #14 Cal Poly -- vs #3 Eastern Washington this week, @ Weber St next week #13 SDSU -- vs USD in 2 weeks, @ UNI the week following #12 Western Illinois -- vs UNI in 2 weeks #11 North Carolina AT&T -- vs South Carolina St this week, @ North Carolina Central in 3 weeks (I don't know much about this conference but their opponents are second & third in their conference FWIW) #10 Villanova -- @ Maine this week, vs #7 James Madison next week #9 Chattanooga -- @ Alabama to close out the season (does a loss to the #1 FBS team drop them any?) #8 Charleston Southern -- @ Liberty in 2 weeks #7 James Madison -- @ #6 Richmond this week, @ #10 Villanova next week #6 Richmond -- vs #7 James Madison this week #5 Citadel -- vs #20 Samford this week, @ North Carolina to end the season (another game against a top 25 FBS team to close the season) #4 NDSU -- vs #15 Youngstown St this week, @ USD to end the season #3 Eastern Washington -- @ #14 Cal Poly this week #1 Sam Houston St -- vs #17 Central Arkansas to end the year Keep winning and let the chips fall where they may, plenty of opportunity to move up yet

Popular Post Sioux94
It's fun to think about all of the options and what could be, but for me I'm more concerned about us these next two games. Both are likely to be 4 quarter type of games, especially with Studs out. We have our hands full.
Popular Post DB Cooper
Exciting that we can talk about different ways the playoff picture can turn out for us. Getting a top 8 seed would be HUGE, but regardless, it's fun talking about playoffs in general for this team Bubba is really turning this program around and it's pretty amazing if you sit back and think about where we were 4 years ago and now we are undefeated in one of the best conferences in the FCS Love it
CMSioux
Funny how a team that is undefeated in conference play and has played many of the top tier teams is getting so little love (our schedule is tougher than Montana's). As last year shows we definitely can't trust that the Big Sky rep will go to bat for us when they are in the NCAA seeding meeting- we are a newcomer, an interloper, not from west of the Missouri, someone that was supposed to be an easy win and not rock tradition. Why do they opt out of the playoffs? What is the end game for them? I assume they can't be invited to a bowl, can they? Just not sure why a team wouldn't want to play in the playoffs. I can't figure out how Montana is ranked considering the record and the only quality win doesn't seem so quality at this point.
petey23
It would seem that the top 6 seeds are pretty much locked up except for the final order. The final 2 spots seem to be attainable for Central Arkansas and Chattanooga should they win out or at least beat their FCS opponents as Chattanooga finishes with Alabama. UND, SDSU, Richmond, Villanova, and possibly NC A&T(would need to lose their season finale to not make their bowl game but then would be eligible for playoffs) would be in line for a seed if they slip up down the stretch. Games beneficial for UND, assuming we handle our business of Saturday SDSU plays the Yotes this week and then finishes at UNI.....a loss to either would help Villanova probably has to defeat JMU this weekend and if they do they would probably have a pretty good claim. Richmond is not going to lose the rest of the season and will finish 9-2....getting crushed by Stony Brook could work to our advantage. NC A&T is in a catch 22 situation. Central Arkansas plays Nichols and SHSU, we need them to lose both or at least lose badly to SHSU Chattanooga has a tough game with Wofford which we need them to lose and Alabama game should take care of itself. If UND wins we should be no worse than 9th or 10th in the conversation but we need to be prepared for how rinky dink regionalization of the playoffs can be as we will end up with the equivalency of a 15-18 seed. AJS
We are starting to see things firm up between four of the polls: We are no lower than 9th, no higher than 12th. I like seeing everything become more consistent (STATS Media had been the outlier). Athlon: 9th STATS Media: 12th Coaches: 11th (last week), I'd expect 10th this week AGS: 11th
