This isn’t about a typical transfer... we’ve taken plenty of transfers over the last 6 years (JJ, Kett, Zimmerman & many others). This particular scenario is a kid that decommitted from UND three days before signing day.... Totally different situations. Mayfield, Murray, Fields & Burrows never backed out of commitments to the teams they ended up transferring to. All hypothetical at this point anyways...

Geaux_sioux’s list is spot on. Unfortunately, the same glaring issues have existed after every year for the past 6 years. Just keep recycling this list. I’d add lack of talent, depth & recruiting of the QB position to that list as well. Studsrud was a great young man, good leader & cerebral “game manager” type but he didn’t wow anyone with his athleticism or arm. Sure would be nice to have a game changer at QB. New season = same problems

Listened to the postgame show on the way home from game. They interviewed Evan Holm. He talked about “playing for the seniors” & “playing for them” yesterday. They didn’t ask him directly about his plans, but the way he spoke makes me think he is planning on coming back next year & finished for this year.

Having guys with UND/local/regional ties is great, but with Chaves background from the East Coast, stops at N Colorado & Baylor and his EWU time, there could very likely be some coaches on Chaves’ short list without any UND or Midwest ties.

The new staff & OC at Texas State came in on him very late. He de-committed from UND three days before signing day.

Don't know the extent of the Reyes injury, but UNDfootball360 seemed to think Reyes was being held out yesterday for precautionary reasons. We'll see this week.

Remember in the off-season when there was all this talk about finding ways to get Santiago the ball in space, lining him up in the slot, etc. etc.... other than a screen pass or 2, it hasn't happened. If you are not capable of playing the smash-mouth style you want, then time to add some new wrinkles & get a little creative. Sucks when our most talented & game changing offensive player is on the sidelines every other series. Be nice to see him & Brady on the field together.

No worries. There was a younger guy in the front row of your section at last years UND-USD game that gave equal parts $h*t to both USD & UND. Fit ol' Johnboy's M.O. perfectly.

A lot of FCS contracts are home & home. So saves us a return trip to Miss. in an upcoming season, which allows UND to schedule another home game or FBS payday game. MVSU is an easy win & offers schedule flexibility for the upcoming years.

I'm guessing we get new jerseys in the next season or 2 with the updated fonts. Hopefully at that time the green jerseys have some combination of white, gray & black piping & stripes (white jerseys with green, gray & black) to make the white, green & gray pants all interchangeable with the jerseys. I'm hoping for a return of the black pants as well. Would be nice to get white and/or black helmets too. Seriously doubt we'd be swapping out facemasks each game to match our pants.

That's because the local F-M colleges are not capable of producing a skilled labor force to fill the "good jobs"
