So as I sat at the hockey game tonight while they did their pregame hype show and intro video, which is always first class at the REA, I couldn't help but think to myself, "man, this would be so much better if they took a page from the Alerus and left all of the lights on while this builds up, that would really amp this place up!"

Somewhat related article.  The Alerus needs to start putting carpet or something down on the concrete beyond the end zones.

San Francisco 49ers running back Reggie Bush tore his MCL after slipping on concrete on the sideline of the St. Louis Rams' Edward Jones Dome on Nov. 1. In the aftermath of a possible career-ending injury, Bush is reportedly taking legal action. 

CBSSports.com's Jason La Canfora reported Saturday that Bush is planning on suing the city of St. Louis and has hired the KWIKA law firm to handle his case. According to La Canfora, Bush is likely to cite gross negligence in the lawsuit.

I hope Bush wins and gets a huge settlement out of this. Having to worry about slipping on concrete that should be covered up in the first place is not "part of the game" and shouldn't be allowed to happen anywhere. The NFL generates over $10 billion of revenue each year, so I don't want to hear "it's not feasible" or "we can't afford it". Fix it now and fix it permanently or this will happen again and again.

Okay, now we have a winning team that's clearly stocked with talented and exciting players... the people who live within driving distance of Grand Forks need to pack the house next season. If you live within 100-200 miles there is no reason not to show up on Saturday when people are coming from out of state to attend games.

Digging up an old thread, but I think that the Alerus really needs to adopt the new name and logo as much as Bubba and the rest of the football team are.  May thinks that the Alerus should do eventually to really make the Alerus Center the home of Fighting Hawks football.  Putting the logo in the center of the field would be a great start.  Anyone with some sill want to mock up the current turf design with the new Hawks logo on it?  I think it would look pretty good.
