COMMITTED UND Recruits

Recommended Posts

Wisconsin recruited him pretty hard before Rizzo made his decision to commit to UND. Wisconsin also has lost some players due to transfer. Maybe just a coincidence...

Bowden Singleton (04) will be joining Dylan James (03) and Louis Jamernik (00) on the Okotoks Oilers (AJHL) next year. Will definitely be a team to watch.

Dylan James, who's a late '03 had a really solid 1st year of Juniors last year, putting up 20 G 23 A for 43 points in 51 games. I dug into the AJHL scoring leaders and here are some of the higlights.

  • James finished 43rd overall in the league in scoring
    • 1st among '03 Birthdays
    • Five '02 Birthdays that finished ahead of him
      • Two being Carter Savoie and Michael Benning (High end Denver recruits), both January 2002 DOB

What does this mean? Just that he had a great benchmark for year one. He's kind of under the radar as he hasn't been talked about much on here, but so far so good. Could turn out to be a very good player.

After losing a name like Massimo Rizzo, they felt they needed to fill it with another name that flows off the tongue.  Thankfully it looks like he can play hockey as well!

I hope this one actually shows up.

Funny we haven’t heard of a destination for Rizzo.  Wondering if he is on campus anywhere.

Yeah I've been wondering that as well.

Damn, what a steal to pick up a player like that this late.    Sounds like a skilled kid with character.    Welcome aboard!

"The highest-ranked, uncommitted, college-eligible player ..."

He is 96th.

Quote

Costantini, a 6-foot, 178-pound center from St. Catharines, Ont., checked in at No. 96 in the North American skater rankings, making him a potential mid-round pick when the 2020 NHL Draft finally occurs next month.

Happy to have him? Heck-yah.
But this ain't Jonathan Toews ... yet.

Is it a great pickup...maybe.  But someone has to be the highest uncommitted player  at any given point in time and a ton of '02s are already committed.  Either way, he's projected as a mid round guy.  Works for me.
