Extremely interesting times if the team loses on Saturday and misses the playoffs.  Chaves will have to make some kind of comment to the media as the pitchforks will be out after a 6-5 season.

Conversely - if we win and make the playoffs?

Then most likely we win a playoff game at home, then get beat by 10 or more on the road. Then the press conference is the same as it has been for several years...... "We just need to get better"

If not for the NDSU win, Bubba could be on the hot seat with a loss, a 6-5 season and not making the playoffs.  The Bison win(the only good win all season) has bought him at least one more season leading the hawks...

If UND loses, goes to 6-5, I’d fully expect an end of the season Bubba press conference: “the guys tried really hard this season, and we’re happy”.

On to 2024, extensions for everyone.

Let’s just hope UND wins. They likely will (I hope), but still get screwed somehow by NCAA FCS playoff committee.

Winning an FCS title would be a perfect time for Bubba to retire. Go out on top.

You want him out so bad that even after a Title he should be gone?

I thought he was prone to the same thing, year after year?

Stig walked away at the top last year from SDSU.   It happens

Stig also was at SDSU for 26 years and was stuck in that 5-8 wins every regular season rut for two decades that everyone is in a hurry to get out of.

So following Stig's template, if my math is correct, Bubba will get his first (non-covid) playoff win in 2032...

$12.5M of Sanford | Dykhouse money is a key element of that template.

Correct. Where is UND football gonna find that $10+ M donation?

Sanford,  if they do the Sports Med contract. I was told that was the sum agreed upon before UND’s attorney, at the time, screwed up the previous tentative agreement.
I’m no longer privy to that information so it may be different now. That is what NDSU and some other schools got previously.

I was told they have reached a tentative agreement to start providing services next year but I’m not sure if it’s finalized.

Not a done deal, but happening. It’s all but a formality. I don’t know what the sum agreed upon is, but hopefully $10M plus.

NDSU is going to win today which pretty much assures we get in. It's amazing how NDSU picked it up after we beat them ....and we went in the other direction.

Sac State is about to lose. I'm not sure they're in.

They'd be 7-4 with a loss but that does change things.
