Yotes got outbid and had to use these tents in 2017 as well, what a joke.

Go get that W

The crazy thing is that this the the bid isn't even the only factor in determining the host location.  The hosting manual has a bunch of other factors listed as well.

The written rules and the rules used in practice have some differences.  Namely, only the bid amount matters in practice.

3. When determining host institutions for playoff games when both teams are unseeded, criteria shall apply as follows: (1) quality of facility, (2) revenue potential plus estimated net receipts, (3) attendance history and potential, (4) team’s performance (e.g., conference place finish, head-to-head results and number of Division I opponents), and (5) student-athlete well-being (e.g., travel, missed class time).

(1) Alerus Center v. tents

(2) and (3) Revenue? Attendance history and potential? 9837

(4) So UND doesn't have a conference ...

(5) Sure hope there aren't thunderstorms with lightning when the student-athletes are in the tents with turlets

If a student-athlete got hurt in a lightning storm in a locker-tent, ain't nobody gots enough coverage for the suing that would follow. Nicholls State and the NCAA would be under new ownership.

How about this: We sign a home and home with Nicholls State. And when they get here for the game in Grand Forks, the visitor locker rooms at the Alerus Center are "closed for renovation" and have a couple of tents outside for them to use as locker rooms. #paybacksaretough

And a late season game for good measure.

Honestly, file the protest now.

Those facilities do not allow privacy for in-game adjustments and game planning ... unless they make sound-proof tent walls down south.

And it could be hot and humid. Thats would suck.
