We need to beat this one down, before it gets legs. Now, from hearing Fighting Hawks on a loudspeaker, we have the "Fast Eddy Curse", where one gets the felling of a golf ball stuck in your throat and a baseball stuck in your - - -. Well, I think you get what I mean.

UNDBIZ
Pretty good move by them to force the NHL to show their cards. If they're able to guilt-trip the NHL owners into a bad business decision, good for them.

cberkas
So their thought is, "it worked against USA Hockey so it will work against the NHL." The NWHL folding is what the NHL wants, or that is what the rumblings are, for them to take over. I guess they think they should be making the money that players like Ovi make. cberkas
I am surprised that Brad didn't write about the Minnesota Whitecaps winning the NWHL title (with two former UND players o the team).

SiouxVolley
Lacrosse pro players mostly have to work full time jobs. It’s nothing new for fledgling new league, but somehow women’s pro hockey is so special.

Quote “We will not play in ANY professional leagues in North America this season until we get the resources that professional hockey demands and deserves,” says a prepared statement released Thursday morning by a group of women players that is believed to number at least 200. “We cannot make a sustainable living playing in the current state of the professional game,” the statement adds. “Having no health insurance and making as low as two thousand dollars a season means players can’t adequately train and prepare to play at the highest level.” I can't make a sustainable living playing in the current state of co-rec broomball, either. 1
