I'm tired of seeing dedicated UND alumni on Facebook wearing gold in frisco. Support your own damn team you traitors!

This situation is partially due to NDSU's success, but also due to UND's failures. If UND athletics and Faison would be even slightly competent, UND would have actually been to either the FCS playoffs or NCAA MBB tournament by now. With that, UND fans would not feel as pressured to sway on over to Ag school yellow. Its frustrating; UND needs to do more than settle for only hockey - it will allow NDSU to run the state when it comes to collegiate football and basketball. I understand that NDSU has raised the expectations to such a point where many think UND fans have exaggerated expectations, but that is only an excuse in my opinion. Fortunately, UND football should be (and better be) a annual playoff team starting in 2016 (they should've been an FCS playoff participant in 2015).

Well I might feel dirty sticking up for a Bison fan here???, but just speaking for myself and the company I work for, NDSU winning these last 5 years has jumpstarted our January in an industry that is usually very slow at this time of year so my boss is happy and that makes for a little less stress around the office so that makes me....maybe not happy but at least conflicted:lol:. Believe me, just once I would like to not have to send back the T-shirts and Hoods and other apparel we order in and have on hand for "IF-THEN" orders when UND has been at the Frozen 4.

There is a definite economic impact for companies like mine and the retailers we sell to who turn around and sell to the general public.

Don't be ridiculous. There is no doubt that that has benefitted, along with NDSU. I'm sure you really do understand that..even if you have trouble accepting it.

Fargo benefits as does Frisco, not North Dakota.

Get ready for a ton of Wentz talk nationally with the upcoming draft. Of course it has started already.

Good kid, good family and a North Dakota kid. I would hope all North Dakotans would be proud of wherever Carson's future takes him. I don't recall Bison fans having negative things to say about Weston Dressler. And not to limit it to just North Dakota kids but others who have played for the programs who have moved on to professional football.

That is what is good for North Dakota. Can't feel anything negative about Wentz.

And they'll disappear the minute the winning and fun stops.

Many bandwagon fans turn in to real fans.  Everyone here jumped on the wagon at some point.

Actually a pretty respectable number.

Furthermore, I predict Reese Davis and the GameDay crew are a lock to return to Fargo next fall.

Not even sure that is going out on a limb any more.  Haven't looked at the competition for the week, but wondering if they would go to Iowa for the SU-Iowa game.  Game might have a great story line with the FBS killer versus the 2015 Big Ten surprise.

Very impressive what's going on in Fargo.

Big picture:

The 2014 GoDaddy Bowl with Toledo and Ark. St. drew 1.4M viewers.  That's Toledo and Arkansas St!

In May of last year a UCLA/Auburn women's softball game drew 1.6M viewers.

Respectable I guess is one way one could describe it but again in the grand scheme of college athletics FCS FB is still a niche viewership sport.

They have basically already tweeted they are coming so ya not much of a "prediction."

Interesting, but not surprising.  I'd also say that is pretty decent.

As far as the relative importance to the landscape of college athletics overall, interesting to note the 635,000 viewers from the 2015 NCAA Hockey Championship Game in Boston between Boston University and Providence.

Just goes to show how important getting your basketball team to the big dance is.  It definitely has the biggest potential for exposure and viewership.

Would be REALLY, REALLY nice to have our football, hockey and mens basketball teams all rolling at the same time to maximize the exposure for the flagship University of North Dakota.

Can you imagine a FCS Football Championship Game appearance, Frozen Four appearance and Big Dance ticket all in the same year?

I guess I don't follow Twitter that much.

Me neither but its been pointed out:

Its not the viewership of the championship games, its all the exposure they keep getting on College Gameday that really is putting them out as a "National" brand I dare say (I was at a bar in San Diego chatting with a couple last year..."We're from North Dakota oh yeah... "NDSU we saw them on College Gameday was their first response.)....now if only they were FBS. :whistling:

To provide a little more perspective:

2015 NCAA D-I Hockey final: 635K

Brian Faison is very busy with the hockey committee chairmanship and has little time for such daydreaming and folly.

Correct.......so what's your point?  We all know NCCA DI hockey is a niche sport........you NDSU clowns have made that abundantly clear.

My point is even average college FB fans don't care about FCS FB.

But look at all the good UND continuing to be in the Frozen Four has done for the state of North Dakota.

I had no idea they kept attendance numbers 1,815 years ago.  Thanks for that.  But the question remains, was it "good for all of North Dakota" back then, as you claim winning FCS titles is now?
