dakotadan Posted September 26, 2019 Posted September 26, 2019 Must be a crazy large donation if they are naming the entire college after them and not just the new building. Quote

SiouxVolley Posted September 26, 2019 Posted September 26, 2019 Never heard of the Nistler’s until this gift. Most big donors have been on the the Foundation Board, so there’s more to come. Quote

Never say "Never"! I'm thinking you are being sarcastic, anyway: No town wants UND, Grand Forks will never take it. U was later built 2 miles west. UND will never let go of the Flickertails UND will never flood, after the 1979 English Coulee overland flooding UND will never go Div I I will never wear that Hawk (in the 1000's) 1 Quote

forksandspoons Posted October 3, 2019 Posted October 3, 2019 Pretty cool video of what campus will look like when the road construction, library, union, business school, steam plant, etc. are done Quote

They want the rest of the business school funding committed by next summer. Road, library and steam plant are almost done along with the old president's building next to Gamble. New union to be complete by spring of 2021 apparently. Quote

New steam plant will be online spring 2020. Old steam plant will be taken off-line fall 2020, demo shortly after. Memorial Union will be finished summer 2021. Business building fundraising is not complete. $40M has been publicly committed($20M matching donation/$20M state). $30M more is being sought. Don't know how much of that is left. No construction timeline until the money has been raised. I assume the street work is wrapping up this month unless there's another phase of it coming next year. Quote

As long as this is still true, UND will never be able to be in recruiting battles with the top schools in the MVFC. 1 Quote

Kennedy sure was a successful president - that's a ton of new construction. Hopefully the transition to the new president will help with donations for the business school and phase two. The new guy seems much more personable and likable, and maybe those who didn't like Kennedy will be more open to giving. The new business building is badly needed when it comes to attracting students/enrollment. Excited to see campus once everything is wrapped up in a few years. Quote

True, but football is the ultimate team game and a game of numbers. So you need to win more than "a few here and there". 1 Quote
