Went to the meet the sioux preseason deal. I won a hockey stick signed be the '81, '82 season team. Still have it today. 1 4 Quote

Wilbur Posted yesterday at 01:48 PM Author Posted yesterday at 01:48 PM I think the film says a lot about Wisconsin games. Shaky goaltending, and they are a huge momentum type team. They give up goals in bunches at times but also score in bunches like Michigan State learned the hard way on Saturday. Youth hockey philosophy here, but get the puck behind their defense like we did against the Q and we will have success. A ton of respect for their coaching staff. Getting their team to Vegas after the layoff they had isn't an easy task. If the same group that showed up against the Q on Saturday shows up Thursday we will be playing on Saturday night. *If Spunar is the Frozen Four MVP we have a good chance as well. 2 2 Quote

Not possible. Gavin McKenna and Trey Augustine already named co-MVPs. 4 2 Quote

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to see the 1987 team win it all, I was in Germany serving in the US Army and AFN didn't have college hockey on it at the time. 1 Quote

Where were you in Germany? I was at Giebelstadt Army Airfield outside of Wurzburg. I filled in for Dr. Jim Leigh a few times as one of team physicians early that season before leaving for Germany at the end of November 86. 3 1 Quote

This would be a great time to reassert ourselves on the national stage by winning #9. Just think of the positive press and the impression we could make on prospective recruits. 2 Quote

Good to be back, for sure. Now that they're already there, might as well win the whole thing for good measure. 2 7 Quote

UND, UM and UW will bring boatloads of fans and DU will bring both of theirs. 2 7 Quote

It may very well be, and most of us fans are really looking forward to it. Still, it’s always cool to have an “outsider” there as a Cinderella/dark horse. Someone for the boys in green to beat for #9. The romantic in me, I guess, though beating Michigan’s arse would feel pretty good. Quote

Wilbur Posted 13 hours ago Author Posted 13 hours ago I personally love that the furthest east a Frozen four teams calls home is Ann Arbor. Had Duluth beaten Michigan it would've been Madison. And now there is a ton of bickering between the Hockey East people and the ECAC about which conference is better. What a time to be alive. 2 Quote

nascar99 Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Random fun fact of the day: Rieger Lorenz (2024), Austin Poganski (2016), Jeff Rohrkemper (2011), and Tom Gilbert (2006) are the last goal scorers in National Championship Games for Denver, North Dakota, Michigan, and Wisconsin. Wisconsin was shut out in 2010 by Boston College, hence needing to go back to 2006 for their last National Championship Game goal. Denver is Denver, but to quote Staind, it's been awhile for North Dakota, Michigan, and Wisconsin in terms of getting to the National Championship Game. Quote

Good opportunity here for UND to raise some NIL money and market itself to prospective students for sure. Momentum keeps growing! Quote
