SWSiouxMN Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 watching the 4th quarter since I only had iheart to listen to because I had to step out. That PI on Wanzak was very weak... Quote

Congratulations Hawks and Bubba, left no doubt!!! That's great. I did the same last week in Beijing. Made it to gf for this one. What a win 1 Quote
shep Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 Most thrilling game I've seen in a long time. Bad officiating (including a kind no push call on us at the end) but 2 great teams going hard at it from start to finish.n But what's the issue with opening drives for the D? By my count it's the 3rd straight game the opposition scored (rather methodically) on the opening drive. Otherwise, they just gutted it out; I have been a critic of Studs but today he was a man, a leader, a championship QB. Any idea if Rich could make it back for playoffs? 1 Quote
Feff Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 Terrible officiating but went both ways. UND could have been called for PI at the end. The only thing I can think of is if the receiver initiated the contact with Harris and then tripped. The defender is able to hold his ground. That's the only thing I can think on that. However the PI on Wanzek was bogus, and the NAU corners were being physical all day with our receivers. 1 Quote
SWSiouxMN Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 going back to last year, that is a 11 game Big Sky winning streak. Impressive 1 Quote

NAU went three and out to start the game. They scored on their second possession. Unless your talking about their first drive of the second half? Quote

shep Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 Btw, I thought we had a couple of chances at blocking punts today. Got close a couple of times. Quote
geaux_sioux Posted November 13, 2016 Author Posted November 13, 2016 I think I and the rest of the people on the west side of the south catwalk deserve some credit for that last play not being a PI call. That sideline official on the west side had a bad game. That offensive PI was trash. Then that holding call right in front of me... I've never lit into a ref like that before. Also, did anyone see the shower of booze right over where Harris ran his pick 6 into the end zone? There had to have been at least 7 drinks tossed into the air on the play. There were lemons all over the turf below. 1 Quote
Sioux>Bison Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 I was really happy to see the special teams show up and perform at a high level. It was really good to see this team play well with high stakes on the line and never giving up after being down. If this team plays like they did overall today the playoffs will be fun to watch ! shep Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 Ya, west side ref was not in game mode today. I did not see the beer shower when Harris ran it in as I was scanning the field for a flag, so concerned was I that it was going to be called back like other big plays. Btw, a friend sat with us on our side of the field (AA on visitor's side). He had tix a couple weeks ago on the other side and actually tweeted that the sound was way too loud on that side. So it's only on UND's side I guess. Quote

They will need to play better than today but I have much more confidence in our passing game after today. Mercur is developing into a big play wideout and the two freshmen just battle. Next wrinkle to this offense is TE seam and/or #22 in the slot with #5 in the backfield. If they would have done that today it would have been Madden offense down the seam. 1 Quote
gundy1124 Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 Man, this thread was hilarious to read. I hope everyone is safe, no tall buildings to jump off into the 3rd quarter. NAU was picked to win the BSC cause they are frick'n talented, their coaching staff is top notch, and schematically their offense is hard to play against. Their system throws the best timing routes in the league. The QB throws an out and their WR isn't even in his break. Their o-line was legit, really good, only 4 sacks on the year. NAU defense watched a lot of film, they were well prepared. The only weakness NAU had was their secondary and even though that isn't our strength, WR, we really started executing. What a gritty win!! 4 Quote

Here's hoping Weber can sneak into the playoffs with a win over ISU next weekend and maybe we can have a rematch. But it's most likely not gonna happen. I'd be surprised if Weber made the playoffs now. Weber has a legit shot at the playoffs if they win next week. BSC should get as many teams as any other conference except maybe the CAA Quote

Wish they would've shown the Gatorade dump on Bubba. This is so great, so huge, so terrific, or any other superlative Trump may have put on this game!! Go Hawks!!!!! Quote

Oxbow6 Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 Game balls should go to #7 and to the OC. 2 Quote
