Expand the only advantage I can see is at least this way, there's a chance for some more conversation with the committee ahead of time, and hopefully a more educated decision can be made by the committee when the bracket is set. 1 Quote

Expand It's funny that so many conferences use this rating in their tie breaking procedures for the Auto-bid (not sure how many actually use it, but I know Big Sky and Missouri Valley both do) Quote

Expand The main reason they began putting out the TOP TEN so early is to begin early discussions and give FCS some "Press" time and let the Blogs have something to talk about. Quote
