Calvin Vachon would be a nice get, have you expect Arizona State will be after him. His grandfather is a 3 time Stanley Cup Champion.

Liam Beerman also putting up good numbers with Vachon at Shattuck

Vachon's family moved to the Bitterroot and we got the last (only?) Blue chip from Montana.

Like I said, @gfhockey's posts are puzzles. Like Wordle...after a case of beer.

Can we recruit a high end goalie!!!????  At least Headquist is over 6 feet, but hasn’t exactly dominated juniors. Twice now we have used grad transfers to cover up a lack of depth at goalie in recruiting.

Everyone complained about Driscoll last year until he became great down the stretch.  Don’t overreact from one game.  Magnus Chrona won a championship but he gave up goals on the first three shots last night.  It happens, and many times it isn’t all on the goalie. Remember when everyone ripped Hakstol for starting Cam Johnson against Lake Superior? He turned out winning a Championship too.

Who are the top uncommitted forwards for next year? Seeing how things are starting for the current recruits, I would think you would need at a minimum one, but more likely two forwards for next years class.

Of the current top scorers in the USHL that are age eligible for college hockey, Nick Moldenhauer (already discussed previously- UND not on his schools list) and Ryan St Louis are the top uncommitted scorers.

My hope is we land someone who decommits, from another school at this point. Brock Boesser (Wisconsin) Logan Cooley (Providence) Troy Stetcher (Omaha) yes he plays defense but another example.

I feel like that is the best option at this point for an impact player if it’s a freshman. But the portal will be an option.

Yeah I’d guess portal is our best bet if we can’t fill out the forward group with our current recruits. Perron for sure coming but after that not sure if any others are ready.

Did a little digging.

  • Perreault '05 (NTDP): 20Pts in 11 Games. Is it just assumed he's not playing college hockey?
  • Fine '05 (NTDP): 3 Points in 11 Games.
  • Musa '03 (Madison): 8 Points in 7 Games
  • Burchill '05: (Dubuque): 6 Points in 7 Games
  • St. Louis '03 (Dubuque): 11 Points in 7 Games

At this point Berry’s kid may need to be added to the prospective recruits listing. I’ve never actually seen him play, but combination of size/offensive output is intriguing. He’s playing T1 for Northstar. Not a cakewalk schedule.

Saw that James Hagens had a hat trick and an assist with 8 shots on goal last weekend for the NTDP.   Is he going to play with his brother, or do we have a shot at him?

NHL Central Scouting Watch List just came out, highlighting first-time draft-eligible players. (I think that's the purpose of the list; if I'm wrong, please correct.)

These are the UND commits on the list:

  1. Andrew Strathmann, D - Grade B
  2. David Klee, F - Grade C
  3. Jake Livanavage, D - Grade C
  4. Jayden Perron, F - Grade C

It’s early but those Nadeau brothers playing at Penticton are putting up video game numbers. I’d be trying to poach them from Maine. One is an ‘05, he’s going to be a stud. Aiden Fink in the AJ too.

I’ve never liked those rankings they’re always way off after the top 10 or so. Perron is going late first/early second everywhere else and is leading the ushl in scoring as an ‘05…C? That’s a whiff.
