I say we fire Bubs, hire @gfhockey  and if no first year Natty we fire him (and deport him to Duluth where he seems he’d rather be at times).

And if he does win a Natty, if it’s not back to back … fired.

gf might need a stand-in for practices.   He's good at counting banners, but he's never been on skates.

Extremely ballsy yet thought through move by Sergei Fedorov in the KHL.  I've often thought that teams should pull the goalie off gained possession in OT to give yourself a 4-3 advantage.

More of a risk in college hockey with pairwise OT losses being what they are, but if you're playing a team like Denver where an OT loss isn't going to hurt too much why the heck not?

Surprised to not see it more honestly.  All that space out there.

It’s unproven that he can count.

That's why DU has him in such a panic!  Once someone's banner count hits double figures, it all falls apart for him.  Now I feel bad for giving him shyt.

Seems like the %gobc influence has also waned. Can’t believe gfhockey asks the question to us mere plebeians.

%gobc is not what it used to be...too much talk, not enough action.;)

The firings will continue until the moral improves. :)

It’s very simple. If we provide our goaltender with more goal support then we won’t need to nitpick the goaltending as much :D

*by “we” I mean UND*

I say it's ok for you to say "we" and anyone who disagrees with us is a jerk :D

I'm still stunned by the data that shows DeRidder faced 35 shots per game last season (Michigan State) and UND goalies faced 25 shots per game.

Not just the numbers either.  Not all SOG are created equal.

Agree: Above and outside the circles is not the same as dots-and-down.

Why does college hockey have limits on hours coaches can be with the team prior to the season?

All sports do. I think it's about balance of the "student athlete" kind of thing.

Forward lines today at practice:

Costantini - Schmaltz - Blake
James - McLaughlin - Gaber
Caulfield - Jammer - Sendo
Hain - Strinden - Portz
Albrecht - Kunz

These are 100% different than the lines yesterday, so don't look too hard into these. Fun to see some ideas, though. LOVE the 2nd and third line.

Was also told to that apparently Hain tested off the charts with all the Iron Man stuff. Great to hear that.

That second line is one I dreamed up in my head this summer that I felt like Berry would never go for

I know they've been doing maintenance days for a lot of guys, so not sure if they are specifically hurt, or just taking a day off.

Right?? I really, really like that. I bet we see it early in the year.

Two freshmen centers.
Two freshmen on a line with a guy who is reasonably* responsible defensively.

Yeah-no, those are lines for practice and experimentation.

*Game day I'd expect that word to be 'exceptionally'.
