CMSioux
Wonder if any local bars in GF would consider putting up a big screen up in their parking lot, renting out spaces for tailgating and showing a best of series of UND football games on a few Saturday afternoons. Desperate times/desperate measures.

Sioux95
I wonder if there was any talk in the the P5 about breaking away from the NCAA and forming an association that would make it more reasonable to play this fall? A scaled down testing protocol, looser social distancing and contact tracing guidelines, and an association that would take on more liability risk would have gone a long way toward saving the season. Is there an ncaa rule on this? Per the UND 360 write-up, the requirements were over the top. The insinuation was that they didn't think teams were following them the way they should be and as things continue to play out, any positive test would theoretically sideline huge portions/position groups of your team at a time. Again, that's assuming teams are honestly following the protocols as they are written.

This is the major positive ramification of Coved. The NCAA is done. It hasn't done squat for athletes, it's a money grab and frankly, the schools can do without it. Yep there will be more recruiting violations, but the NCAA lost it's respect in that regard years ago when Cam Newton's dad was peddling him as a free agent and the NCAA did nothing about it.
Fry Bread
Time to go old school. Form a team. Issue challenges to other schools. Be ready to play on short notice to small crowds and very limited coverage.

Vegas_Sioux
Big Ten OSU wants the season to start in Jan, can't wait to watch a goopher gamer at TCF in the middle of Jan. Unless they switch to US Bank.

True, but would still be plenty cold. Thinking of the OSU suggestion: Start season mid-January and finish by late March. Would 6 months be enough time off to realistically have a full season the next year? Football, Basketball and Hockey at the same time? Oh my? Mama Sue
Information in the media about a players union or college football players association.... would invoke the states at public colleges, bargain for rights to sponsorship compensation, etc., etc. sounds like transitioning to pro sports to me....a whole season with nothing to do. Nodak78
OK with the football season moving to spring '21. What does the NCAA or league etc. Say about '21 recruits that graduate early? Can they start college in Jan and play the spring league.
