Does anyone think "the picture" is going to play a role in who the head coach is next year?

I still firmly believe that if they lose their next 3 games, then Bubba's gone. One could argue this is the most important three game stretch in the D-1 era. This program needs new leadership. The last two games could not have emphasized that more.

If it happened this year, I wanted them to get Danny originally. "The picture" sort of cemented that. Who can blame him for leaving?

3 more.

To steal a line from Sicatoka about playing devils advocate here.  I'm not sticking up for Bubba, BUT I'm sure someone could produce pictures like that of me sitting in church.   I do close my eyes and listen.   I'm not sleeping but sometimes it just hard to keep the eyes wide open.   I was more shocked about the picture at first then I am now.

I'd really like to know the circumstances and who took them.

Devil's Advocate: If that's a real problem Danny would not be insubordinate in going to Chaves. Danny didn't deal with it. He left.

Based on Chaves record and obvious loyalty to Bubba, what could Danny have possibly gained by doing that??

To be fair, it could’ve been anyone on the team in the last 6-7 years.  Maybe longer.

We hired a sleeping Grandpa and NDSU hires a coked up crazy man.  And it shows

So you’re saying the reason Bubba keeps getting extensions is there’s big $ boosters pumping money into the program to keep him? I had just assumed Chaves was incredibly lazy and loved mediocrity. Very happy with this new development.

I'm just saying they aren't the armchair ADs that frequent here. At this stage in their life they are enjoying the journey - not saying they are satisfied or don't want more, just saying they aren't thinking they are smarter than UND.

The DeBoer ship has sailed…

Is there any chance in the world that UND could lure Central Valley’s Brent Vigen back to the state?

Ummm.....guessing he will keep his house in the Rockies vs. a home on Belmont street.  A good coach, but just would never happen with his SU ties and his current situation.

Go from coaching a team that is currently #2 in the nation, is consistently in the top 5, and has played once for a natty to taking over a total rebuild project and probably for less money?  You're kidding, right?

@Longtime fan @UND-FB-FAN what direction do you want them to go? National search? Danny? Freuchte? I’m being hopeful and let’s say it happens after this year, if that makes a difference.

I’ve been on record here and officially via communication with “leaders”  for years stating Bubba can’t get it done if we want UND to eventually be a champ like NDSU and SDSU.

I think Danny Freund would be a last resort. The options come down to what we pay and who is interested. The new facilities are getting done upon perfect timing to recruit a new staff.

Early list:

Jake Landry NDSU OC
Danny Freund SDSU OC
Grant Olson NDSU DC

Isaac Fruechte UND OC

Beau Baldwin (QB coach Calgary Stampeders; former EWU head coach under Chaves)

Tony Annese (HC at D2 Power Ferris State in Michigan)

Todd Hoffner (HC Minnesota-Mankato)

Jerry Olszewski (HC Augustana)
