I'm less worried about the goal song than I am about all of the music played before and throughout the game. We don't need to unironically be playing songs from 10-15 years ago, let's keep up with the times. Sure, mix in some classics(looking at you AC/DC) but time to retire a lot of these songs that have been played into the ground. And for the love of God read the room! No baby shark when we're playing our biggest rival and there's 3 minutes left in the game!

I suffer from ear fatigue from certain bands/songs (AC/DC, Journey, etc).

As a Red Wings fan, going to college in Iowa City with a ton of Chicago fans during their run up to the 2010 title, I absolutely despised Chelsea Dagger. Then I met my wife and her NoDak family, went to games, and the song changed meaning and with Chicago not being that good the last several years, I don't mind it as a goal song. HOWEVER, the best one I think I've experienced live was in Columbus. The Blue Jackets score, horn goes off, then they belt out "FOR THOSE ABOUT TO ROCK" followed by a loud firework boom (much like UND), followed then by an upbeat song to finish it off. Seems like a lot but it works in my opinion. But am fine keeping it the same.

May get skewered for this one, but I enjoyed DU's "Let me clear my throat" goal song bc that's just a good tune and it plays well to get you excited, but I've been told it's been changed.

While as a Hockey fan I greatly appreciate the Brass Bonanza and its place in Hockey history, that song first and foremost Belongs to Hartford, and secondly to the State of Connecticut, If U Conn wants to use then they should but we need to stick with what we have or find a different song that doesn't steal from another state/ regions hockey legacy.

Bro Hymn and Party Hard are my two favorite NHL goal songs.

Other suggestions off the top of my head.

Rocking in the Free World - neil young

And for those off nights against Canisius:  Helpless - CSNY

My compadres had a large repertoire of songs to sing at the end of a winning game.   Fortunately for us, the Fighting Sioux had a lot of wins during the day.

My faves?

Bury Me Not on the Lone Prairie - band was good with this one.

50 Ways to Leave as a Loser - "hop on the bus Gus" and a lot of made-on-the-spot lyrics

Would love to hear those agin at the Ralph sometime ...

(With apologies to Paul Simon and Burl Ives.)

Is it because of the rumor that's @Goonsinging lead? It's really not. ;)

PS - My estimate of "Dagger" for a decade seems low based on the start of this thread.

LOL! I can't sing at all. I'd like to see the team move from Chelsea Dagger.

It starts as the theme for a 60s beach movie then slides into the theme song for a 70's cop drama and ends with another 70s theme song a laugh track comedy.

I'm never been a fan of that song. It's the Chicago Blackhawks goal song, I think we need to develop our own goal song.

There's so many good songs we could put in it's place.

It's 3 minutes to end of intermission.
Games and ads are done.
The arena is darkened.

The ring gives the 3 Minute warning.
After 20 second or so of that annoyance the ring goes dark also.

And the pre-entrance interlude starts ...

< DONG >

And after that runs for about 2:15 ...

Darren Looker: Ladies and gentlemen, ... here come your Fighting Hawks!

< you know what comes here

The old codger 80s kids and the new breed 20s pups both recognize both.

We used a variation of their jersey for years and most of us loved it.

People are always trying to change stuff just because. It’s a form of pointless progressivism. Just because something has been around awhile Doesn’t mean it needs to be changed just for the sake of changing something. Always looking to complain about something.

Agree, kill Chelsae Daggar, it was goodish for a month.

Revert to a band, consisting of real students, with actual instruments.

Fans will remember when to cheer, it would be fun.

Anyone under the age of 50:  “Grampa, who were Paul Simon and Burl Ives?”
