hky Posted September 17, 2017 Posted September 17, 2017 I think this one is on Schmidt. Have to game plan with the personnel we have. Not who we used to have. Quote
Hans8891 Posted September 17, 2017 Posted September 17, 2017 ....and 0-4 on 4th downs, although that includes one with seconds left in the game Quote

If you think criticizing that type of embarrassment is an overreaction, then you clearly have expectations that don't include accomplishment and respect. That shouldn't be associated with UND football, in my opinion. You have to change something for this to not happen again; expecting this whole disaster to spontaneously resolve would be beyond idiotic. Bubba has to make changes now, obviously. What those changes are remains to be seen: depth chart, schematics, staff positions, etc. I saw the same game you did, which included being dominated in every area. How are you going to single out who needs to be fired? I think this is just one of those games where they weren't quite prepared mentally to know what they were going to face. If this wasn't an aberration, then those kinds of issues on both sides of the ball may lead one to believe we aren't heading in the right direction period. I choose to believe that despite being warned, the players weren't heeding the warning and thus had it handed to them. We've seen this in every sport, if you aren't ready to play at this level, even to an inferior team you will have trouble winning, and South Dakota is a very good team! 1 Quote
The Phoenix Posted September 17, 2017 Posted September 17, 2017 I seriously can't figure you guys out. Here is reality: 1. You stink. 2. You got owned. 3. You have hockey, so that is fine. 1 1 Quote

We knocked him up with our 2nd string. Will Ratelle would have put him on the sideline win how exposed he was. Quote

It does us no good to go three wide with guys who can't separate against a decent CB. Problem today was not separation. The first half they couldn't catch a cold. How many drive extending drops did they have? That combined with the announcers making it sound like Keaton missing some checks and the passing game (along with the offense) sucked. Quote

Longtime fan Posted September 17, 2017 Posted September 17, 2017 UNDs d will have issues stopping the run up the middle the remaining of the year. Injured personal adding up. Through 3 games they are giving up 5.0 yards/carry, 8 tds and 212 yards/game. Although...the big sky will make it a little easier....big sky doesn't have any "push" style offenses....just finesse, so UND could be a little better in that aspect the next 9 games. Quote

He's the kind a receiver you throw it up and let him make a play. Last week Oliveira carries 16 times for 164 yards & Wanzek targeted 10 or 11 times, caught 7 for 117 yards two touchdowns. This week Oliveira carries only four times and Wanzek targeted only three times and caught the two that he should have today. 4 Quote
siouxfb Posted September 17, 2017 Posted September 17, 2017 Today wasn't good but the sun will come up tomorrow. Games like this happen from time to time. While it's embarrassing and sucks we still have an opportunity to win our conference, make the playoffs and compete for a national championship. South Dakota is a very good team. They aren't 45-7 better than us but they are a good team. Today wasn't about coaching schemes. It was about effort, execution and discipline. We were bad at all of those things today. What we need to have happen next week. Stop jumping offsides (both O and D). Defense make the plays when you are there...get around the ball and be violent. We sat and watch guys fall forward today. On offense we need our WRs to be great. No more dropped passes(we had many today) and make some great catches to keep drives going. Oline, TEs and FBs need to take today personally. We need to be assignment sharp and have much better effort. We can't have two unblocked guys on a 4th and 1. Again the sun will come up tomorrow. The guys will watch the film learn, from it and get ready for the kitties to come to town. I trust bubba and the coaches will make sure that we won't see this again. 1 Quote

SWSiouxMN Posted September 17, 2017 Posted September 17, 2017 this has been a trend since Bubba took over but for whatever reason that 3rd game of the year is always the clunker.... Quote
