Thank you Dave Hakstol - these players are still yours and you deserved to watch them win this after the Flyers game today. Thank you Brad Berry and the rest of the coaching staff for doing whatever it was that got this team over the hump. We as fans are proud of this special group of young men. Fighting Sioux, Fighting Hawks, I don't even care anymore. My heart still belongs to the University of North Dakota. Thank you for reminding me of that. The Fighting Hawks are your national champions! BOX CHECKED! Well said. 1 hour ago, Johnny Ringo said: so too early to talk back to back nattys? Yes, actually that word should never be used, but I suppose on this night we can let it slide... 1 1 Quote

Popular Post Blackheart Posted April 10, 2016 Popular Post Posted April 10, 2016 Watched the game tonite at home with the family...it was nice to be able to share this moment with the kids. Loved hearing the North Dakota fans dominate the arena in support of the team. Home of the Sioux and Sioux Forever chants were awesome. The boys played their game and earned this damn thing. Leave no doubt! (line from Remember the Titans) Loved Drake's Fighting Sioux comment during the on-ice interview as well. Enjoy it boys, you EARNED it! 8 Quote
Popular Post ber818 Posted April 10, 2016 Popular Post Posted April 10, 2016 This makes me happy.....I get to look at a win until next season instead of seeing one loss until October:) 18 Quote
brianvf Posted April 10, 2016 Posted April 10, 2016 I love this team. I agree with the earlier comment...it's not going to take 16 years for the next one. 3 Quote

CMSioux Posted April 10, 2016 Posted April 10, 2016 No rioting, no vandalism, no burning cars - geez I guess we just don't know how to celebrate. (However the Herald did feel the need to report the sighting of one broken beer bottle downtown.) Siouxpride.com 1 1 Quote
sprig Posted April 10, 2016 Posted April 10, 2016 I'll never forget my first year living in Grand Forks, Great year in the Ralph, and a fitting ending.Way to go, SiouxHawks. 1 Quote
Popular Post GoalieMask Posted April 10, 2016 Popular Post Posted April 10, 2016 The only word that comes to mind is "family". Like many of you, I watched this celebration unfold with my wife and kids. Kids I have watched grow up deeply immersed in their love for this team. Watching the boys in green spill onto the ice at the buzzer was surreal. Our love of this program through the years has introduced new family and friends to the experience of game day at The Ralph. It all speaks to togetherness. Not to mention, the friendships I have formed through the years. We have stumbled upon something special as members of NoDak Nation. Family is also what his program is all about. It is tradition, and legacy and it doesn't stop in 2016. It's endures. How special it is to share this new championship experience with those who haven't felt it before. 11 Quote
Popular Post SiouxBoys Posted April 10, 2016 Popular Post Posted April 10, 2016 Honestly, so happy for everybody. A huge thank you to Dave Hakstol. He built this team, and he's just as happy as anybody else. The guy bleeds green and this title is just as much his as anybody else and he deserves it. THANK YOU HAK 9 Quote
Oxbow6 Posted April 10, 2016 Posted April 10, 2016 I know this isn't going to go over well but...........they were selling official Natty t-shirts after the game at Amalie. Had UND F-n Hawks on them. Couldn't do it.....especially with all the Sioux chants rocking the arena and Drake's post game comments.....and neither could the 4 UND fans behind us in line. 3 Quote

Then, you probably aren't gonna have one cause the REA shirts have it on theirs also. Maybe secondary market. If UND is smart they will ensure it is included on all licensed memoriabila. Quote

Along that line, GoalieMask, I'd like to give a special mention to those fans and folks who have left us since 2000 and weren't around to see this one. I sent a text to a friend last night about this and couldn't help but think of them. Joel Lovelien, who was a frequent poster on this board (BleedsGreen, BleedGrn, or something like that), THETRIOUXPER, another long-time regular who passed away unexpectedly a few years ago, and my old roomie in 408B McVey, from 1988-1990, Erin Kullander, who attended I don't know how many games with me at REA during those two years, who has been gone since 2014. I know there are many others I'm sure, but I knew all three of these guys personally and wanted to mention them. We miss you - I hope you got together in heaven around the big HD TV in the sky and enjoyed the show last night. SIOUX FOREVER, BOYS! 12 Quote
