All of the hats ive seen leave a lot to be desired. The logo is just too damn big.

I'd like to see a printed "trucker" hat version, myself.  You know, the hats with the white foam front with a mesh back.  Maybe we could call them "throw back" hats

agreed...that looks horrible no ways about it...can someone show me a black hat with just the white hawk head logo minus the nd...probably would look pretty decent.

You can probly get one of those in any gift store in Minnesota. Wouldn't that be defeating the purpose of the new logo, then no one outside of Grand Forks or Fargo would know where it's from. It would just be another hat with a bird head on it.

Thick embroidery on hats never looks good.  This is no different.  There is going to be good stuff and bad looking stuff.  There was Sioux merch that looked pretty crappy as well.  It happens.  There has been some good looking Fighting Hawks merchandise out there as well.  But of course there will be people that will say everything is ugly to justify their belief that the logo is horrible.

Whoever came up with the "hawkey" thing deserves a firm kick in the groin and a hard punch in the gut. Cutesy crap has never had a home at UND, well except for when they did that idiotic cartoon logo briefly in the late 60's.  That's the kind of crap that will lead them creating some sort of dumb ass mascot.

Dude, relax.  just a play on words.  It's not that bad.  Not going to lead to a goofy bird mascot.  UND didn't want a cartoonish bird logo.  I doubt they are going to want a big cartoon bird mascot running around.
