No reason the change the name of this sight. Why can't we honor our past and keep it Sioux Sports. Everyone knows that is UND. Change it to Hawks something, and it could be 1 of how many schools.

Woah woah woah, this is It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. These are the Birds of War (They're trying to be eagles), and they're wrestling for the troops.  We'd be lucky to have the Birds of War at UND. Don't you dare insinuate they're gay.

I think we just have to replace "Let's Go Sioux!" with "Let's Go F'hawks!".    And then if we really get lazy with it, the administration might decide it's not such a good nickname after all.

Oh, and for the Harry Potter fans out there, maybe our logo should be a phoenix?   

 

 

I had thrown out using the phoenix as a logo/nickname back when we were still looking for suggestions about a year ago. It didn't receive much support. 

As for the logo(s), I'd like to see a full bird logo and a logo with just wings that incorporates the interlocking nd. I'm quite sure I'll prefer merchandise with the wings and nd, but I'd guess some would like a full bird, so hopefully both options are made available.

As generic as the Fighting Hawks nickname is...there is only 1 other sports team to have the Fighting Hawks as their nickname. Blackville-Hilda High School in Blackville, SC.
