I don't live in the region anymore, and don't see all of this news. Not sure what you are referring to, but it doesn't sound pretty. Frankly at that point I don't really care about University affiliation; actions like that speak loudly about the individual not the school. I don't recall any sort of character test when I applied for school, they go purely off of academics.

Students all over the country would be rejected from colleges if character/personality was in the equation. Ted Kaczynski was accepted to Harvard, then Michigan, and taught at CAL. Wouldn't change my opinion of those schools based on him.

Everyone wants their alma mater to be painted in the best light, but unfortunately every school has those who tarnish the name.

Somehow, NDSU survived massive national publicity when star student and serial killer and child abuser Joe Duncan was on campus and welcomed.  It's not good to throw stones when your own institution was involved with such vile actions.

Man I guess I need to stay away from this thread for a few days, nothing but garbage and mud being thrown around on here now.  Dumpster fire is the appropriate name.  Sicatoka you should have known not to even say that in a joking manner, as you should have known a few of the NDSU people would take that and try and spin it as much as they could no matter what way you may have meant it.   Sometimes you have to think about what you say and how it may be portrayed from other people outside UND.  We aren't a dirty team and never have been, and I don't think it's good to give anybody........ any fuel for a fire.  Just my opinion.   I wonder if there will even be any meaningful discussion on this thread now leading up to September 19th, or if it will all be complete trash and bashing each others schools the whole time.

Duncan was an NDSU student that people raved about that committed ghastly serial murders.  Defend him if you want,

I agree with you, but when the university and its faculty and students are in the printed news on a weekly basis lately for prostitution, child porn, homosexual beatings it kind of paints a dark picture, doesn't it?

Glass houses. just sayin. Once again we are forced to ask the question what value do these posters bring to OUR fan site discussions? There have been offers to help with troll management, there have been numerous discussions on the need for better management of trolls who are obviously here just to derail discussions. Mods - you continue to lose UND posters and have them replaced with trolls. You encourage them to come here with threads like this. This should be a place where UND supporters can come and discuss UND sports and yes sometimes have some fun dissing other teams without the constant barrage of trolls. If I want to talk with SU fanatics I know where to find them under the rock called Bison-swill.

What joke about head shots? DeLuca what going for a low tackle and the Montana QB lowered his head. DeLuca had already committed to the tackle when the QB took a dive.

We have the same issues on BV. Not only do we have some real idiots over there that have run people off but your trolls show up everyday as well.

Both are public forums. If you wish to be more selective may be a private forum would work better?

Good point. Do you see as many UND trolls over on BV as Bison posters on here?  I don't know because I don't frequent NDSU boards.  Just curious.

I think its about the same. But to be truthful I never took much concern over it to make a count. It really doesn't bother me. You've got one poster who posts really good smack and I can appreciate that.

Basically day 1, you are told to make your opponent uncomfortable -- cross faces, arm bars, leg riding, etc. This includes using injuries to your advantage. If your opponent has an injured hand, he better be sure and tape both of them so as to not expose a weakness.

This is true. In the quarters my sophomore year at state, the guy I was wrestling had a bum elbow ( believe it was badly hyper extended). Anyway I had a Russian arm bar on him at all times when were on our feet. That was the only time I ever used that. Needless to say I lost by a point or two. I knew the kid very well and he had no ill will against me afterwards. Even though I aggravated the injury again and pretty much ended his title run. I think if a high school kid gets it I'm sure they understand the nature of the beast at this level. Nothing cheap, nothing illegal, just doing what it takes. People have weaknesses and you must attack what they are, even if it's an injury.
