Came into the VD on Stanford where I worked graveyards after 1am - liked pizza rolls, Geno's !@#!$ frozen pizza and dry humor.   I could make him laugh but it was like a corpse coughing.  You could tell he wasn't long for this world (early '90's)

PS - Pat Sweeney also frequented the Stanford VD - bought a lot of Eskimo Pies to my recollection.   Nice guy but also odd like Karl.

where was a VD on Stanford?????????????

It was the basement VD if I recall on campus. That place was tiny.

It was better know as "The Sweat" due to the "heart" in the neon "Sweatheart Bakery" sign being burned out.

Jesus worked there.

Yes. It was about 30 yards from our side door at ATO.  Cambridge Street.

There was a VD straight across Stanford Road from Frenchy's--about 100 yards south of Gateway.

It was there into the 90s I believe.  Use to frequent it when living at Stanford Court apartments…they were a fugly yellow.

Stumbled upon this little gem...thank you, YouTube algorithm!

Literally tears in my eyes on how much I wish my kids could have grown up like this in this area as we did then.

Just a great qualifying of life.

Nostalgic depression now settled in......

My uncle worked there and I remember him showing me a "trick" to get free play on the PacMan machine that was there. It was a cool addition to campus.  For all the development on campus the lack of a little retail village is the one thing still needing to be addressed
