Matt Posted November 20, 2015 Posted November 20, 2015 I wonder if it would have been better not playing a team like ndsu this year and just getting a simple d1 win? Quote
Popular Post Nodak78 Posted November 20, 2015 Popular Post Posted November 20, 2015 I talked to one of the coaches about NDSU game. He said that was huge in our development. If you want to beat the best you have to play the best. If we win sat. And get into the playoffs. we may have a chance to meet them again. That experience with the noise in the Fargodome will benefit this young team. 5 Quote
JohnboyND7 Posted November 20, 2015 Posted November 20, 2015 Maybe the offense can even get to a 100 yards this time! 5 Quote
Nodak78 Posted November 20, 2015 Posted November 20, 2015 I don't think that would be a problem now. Oline is playing like a well oiled machine. Quote
homer Posted November 20, 2015 Posted November 20, 2015 I wonder if it would have been better not playing a team like ndsu this year and just getting a simple d1 win?we had two opportunities to do that with different opponents this season. Quote
geaux_sioux Posted November 20, 2015 Posted November 20, 2015 The NDSU game was great for this team. It was a come to Jesus moment for a lot of our players. It showed the difference between good and great. After that reality check we dominated the best team in the big sky before that injured caused three game skid. Now we're rolling again. And like was said above, that game prepared our guys to play anywhere in the playoffs. Quote
Vegas_Sioux Posted November 20, 2015 Posted November 20, 2015 For starters it has to be a D1 team. We are seeing some of the bubble teams this year with D2 wins on their schedule on the verge of missing the playoffs.I always thought it would be cool to bring in a team that also plays D1 hockey: UNH, Maine, Colgate, etc. make it a true weekend have Maine or New Hampshire over for hockey as well. Really get a good rivalry going. 2 Quote
UNDColorado Posted November 20, 2015 Posted November 20, 2015 make it a true weekend have Maine or New Hampshire over for hockey as well. Really get a good rivalry going. That is exactly what I was thinking. Would make for a great sports day in Grand Forks. 1 Quote
darell1976 Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 Any ideas or talk about who the last OOC game in 2017 is going to be? We play at Utah Aug 31st, and at South Dakota Sept 16th, so that leaves Sept 9th open for a (hopeful) home game. 2018 we have one opening as we play at Washington and host Missouri St. If we schedule a home game, 2018 will be our first 6 home game schedule since 2014 (12 games). darell1976 Posted July 29, 2016 Posted July 29, 2016 From UND Football on twitter: Our 2019 season opener will be at home against Drake on Sat., Aug. 31. | UND leads all-time series 2-0 #LeaveNoDoubt So now that leaves 1 OOC game left to schedule. vs Drake, and at North Dakota St in on the slate. Drake is the 6th home game for 2019 (12 game year) with SHSU also scheduled to play in Grand Forks. UND does still have 1 more spot, guessing they will either take a money FBS game or play the away portion of another home and home. Quote

There are plenty of FCS teams that schedule D2 games every year. We should all be happy they we have gone away from that scheduling strategy. 5 Quote

I wonder if that will be left open for now until a decision is made on conference scheduling once Idaho gets added in 2018. In case they go to 9 games. Be interesting what they decide on, sounds like its something the new commish wants to get done as soon as possible. Quote

Last year wasn't a struggle until they got up 21-0 and started looking ahead to NDSU. But the second half was awful. Quote

Boltmann is back out of the shotgun. 20 seconds on the clock. He throws deep to Mckinney. Touchdown, Touchdown, Touchdown. North Dakota Wins! The defending FCS Nat'l Champs take down the Wildcats! You heard it hear first, and when I'm wrong, you'll all have forgotten this post anyway. 4 Quote

UND played Nebraska in 1961, which was in the Big 8 back then, which turned into the Big 12 in 1996. That could be the reference. Or it could be TCU. UND played TCU in 1933. TCU is in the Big 12 now, but was a member of the Southwest Conference back then. Quote
