TwamleyShuffle Posted November 3 Posted November 3 I’m normally a glass half full kind of guy but I’m now at the point to admit it might be good to move on from the current head coach. Grateful for the contributions to the program and I’ll always cherish the win against the school south of us, but if you cannot win on the road you aren’t winning a title. Especially in the NCAAs where you’d likely have to go on the road at some point 2 Quote

ND-fan Posted November 3 Posted November 3 If there is change it will start in internally where Bubba accepts new position in the athletic department and steps down. My gut feeling is we will see change in coaching staff for coming year on defensive side and with this would be Bubba’s last attempt to move the program forward. Also will see us go to portal to build up depth of this team. The fact what we are seeing is a team showing lack of depth and holding firm on maintaining red shirt in place. We have had no exceptional recruits in past several years on defense and it is showing with just few exceptions of improved play by developed players. I also think it’s philosophy of player they want. They want leaner quick body type playing defense and this works for first part of the season but as season goes along these player get nicked up there effectiveness declines by because of part of step or slight drop off in strength. This where I have problem with coaching then you need 2 to 3 players ready to play at each ready to fill in and rotate. Bubba keeps everything so close on status of his team unless player is definitely gone but I guess the opposing teams can see if player is playing hurt only us fans probably are unaware of this. Second we have seen now for several weeks where teams exploited our weaknesses on defense my thoughts there has to be some schemes to prevent some of this and visually we seem same thing happen over in the game and then in multiple games. My question is somebody must see this and yet I don’t see glaring shake up on this this does go to Bubba needing to force some changes because what we’re doing is not working. I see it on the offense side how we have changed our approach but not on defensive side. Quote

It shouldn’t be that difficult. 22 minutes ago, fightingsioux4life said: The athletic department apologists are running out of alibis and excuses. I don’t make excuses for others. Putting anyone who doesn’t join the repeated bashing isn’t evidence that they disagree. I’m looking for a little insight as to statements about a country club atmosphere. I’ve experienced what that can be like with Jerry’s world in Dallas. Asking someone for clarification isn’t making alibis nor excuses. 3 Quote
Popular Post Trueist Hawk Posted November 3 Popular Post Posted November 3 New commenter, but longtime follower. I have to say it. Look at the first few games. There was a different vibe for all of the players. They were having fun and looking good. Around that time, there were some “changes” made and the position coach’s demeanors changed. I don’t know exactly what this was, but know of a few things. This came from the top. I saw an immediate shift in the team. Taking all of the confidence and fun out of it for people that have worked their entire lives for this is very upsetting and mentally draining. Bubba just ain’t it. Freuchte is good, but his hands are tied in some cases. (Usually the bad calls.) Nothing to say, positively, about the DC. And, yes, the napping happens frequently. 9 Quote

This is truly mind blowing if this is legit! While I knew he needed to go....I would have never guessed this. This needs to be posted weekly if it's true.... until he retires. I at least respected Bubba...but seeing this I am losing that. 1 Quote

This theme was evident last year when Freund left, and most in the know started to lose respect at that time. It’s now just growing further … Quote
Oxbow6 Posted November 3 Posted November 3 Do they not supply Red Bull in his office with Phase 2? Quote
shep Posted November 3 Posted November 3 The problem with the pic is the one taking the pic is either a player or someone on the staff unless I’m wrong about who gets in the room. Thats sad that they would publish it to social media. The pic, if it’s an isolated incident, is not good, but if, as alleged, happens frequently, then it’s an issue. 1 Quote
Oxbow6 Posted November 3 Posted November 3 The crumble and decay starts in every situation when the one at the top gives less accountability than he/she ask from those below. It's not complicated. Speaking of Crumbl.....the pumpkin cake this week was gas as the kids would say. Quote

Yep, and UND football just as well go back to division II, or openly opt out of the playoffs every year… No use competing and expecting championships for our alumni, fans, and student-athletes, right? 2 Quote
Popular Post UND1983 Posted November 3 Popular Post Posted November 3 This is what happens when a coach stays well past his welcome and the AD willingly allows him too. He should've retired last winter when EVERYONE thought he was going to. 11 Quote
Kab Posted November 3 Posted November 3 Sad thing is the AD won’t address this, the herald won’t address this. puts other coaches in a bad spot players will not say anything and shouldn’t 1 Quote
