Its really sad/unfortunate that these have to be considered forfeits instead of postponed or being able to be made up.. I mean I guess I understand why, but it just seems sad to see "forfeit" next to the games schedule. Quote
Siouxperfan7 Posted December 29, 2021 Posted December 29, 2021 Zero chance this tournament finishes. It will be shut down before new years. What a joke this testing is. 1 3 Quote
Siouxperfan7 Posted December 29, 2021 Posted December 29, 2021 Now Russia forfeits. Tournament may be over today at this rate! Quote

Popular Post FightingSU Posted December 29, 2021 Popular Post Posted December 29, 2021 Just close it up and send the boys home. No way this thing will last until the 5th. This testing is simply absurd. 1 4 Quote
tnt Posted December 29, 2021 Posted December 29, 2021 Is there something in place to prevent this for the NCAA hockey tournament? How are all the college football bowl games getting played? 1 Quote

sioux rube Posted December 29, 2021 Posted December 29, 2021 The remainder of the 2022 World Junior Championship will be canceled, reports TSN's Bob McKenzie. Three preliminary round contests had been called off over the past two days due to COVID-19 issues. Team USA had to forfeit its game against Switzerland on Tuesday, while Czechia-Finland and Russia-Slovakia were both canceled on Wednesday. More to come Quote

Sioux_Hab-it Posted December 29, 2021 Posted December 29, 2021 The rest of the tournament was just cancelled. World Juniors cancelled in Edmonton, Red Deer due to COVID-19 cases (msn.com) Apparently the Russian team also has it and the tournament could not continue with less than eight teams. Amused to see that over 20 years later I am considered a newbie Quote

At these sensitivity levels, up to 90% of "cases" can be among those no longer ill or contagious. 2 Quote
