only reason this would ever happen is if you are happy with program results and firing a head for issues unrelated to the on ice product

Perhaps off ice issues were more than we know.

Can somebody please explain the love for Chyzyk and Smaby?  I don’t get it…one is the GM for Waterloo and one is the coach for Waterloo. Neither of them have ever won anything as coach or GM. Is it because you loved the way they played at UND?  They don’t have the pedigree to be mentioned in the same breath as any number of folks that have applied for this job. If you want pedigree look to someone that has won at the USHL level, college level, and pro level…there is a few that have and are applying for this job…these two haven’t won anything yet…they are very young and their time may come but please, let’s wait for them to earn the right to be considered for this position.

You have no idea who has applied for this job, none of us do. so just sit here and guess like the rest of us couches gm’s.

Also, Hakstol never won anything and by your “standards” he never should have been considered for the job.

So calm down and let us all pretend like we have a say in the matter.

Pretend? It’s our decision. 🤪

Is it possible that Bubs, Chaves and Armacost were not in agreement on an extension of his contract?  He was going into the last year of his deal.

kermit, dead gophers and badgers, the old barn with a smoke filled concourse...my dad had a secret parking spot on University ave we used to run to the rink in the freezing cold...

I will never forget the dead badger swinging out of the rafters in front of the press box.

We are firing guys because they haven’t won at the NCAA level in 9 years (Championship) and 2 years (league) and some on here are throwing out names of guys that are wet behind the ears and have never won even a league title at the Jr level. All because they are former UND guys.  How about we stop with the UND bias and think big picture, whether it be head coach or assistant.

Not saying either are the answer, but what were Gino and David Carle’s credentials?

Got my facts on the 1980ish parking deal.  There was a street/alley that ran behind the house facing University Park where my dad had lived in the basement during school.  On a map it looks like it runs between 2nd and University, parallel to them.   The older owner of the property had remained my dad's friend and allowed him to park on the backside of the place for hockey games.  I think it was technically illegal, like kinda on the shoulder or perpendicular onto a tiny driveway into a shed or rear garage small structure, or something like that.  But there had been a permission given and the owner wasn't going to report him and the police weren't going to bother an unreported parking violation on a back street that wasn't obstructing traffic during a 2 hourish window.  We also parked legally in the driveway off University from time to time when the owner was out of town.

Funny, looking at the map, it felt like we were running miles as a 5/6 year old...it was probably less than 1/2 mile away.  It was cold though, I remember that well!!!

4 articles in the Fargo Forum sports section on NCAA hockey.  Not one about UND playing in the regional at Scheels today. That's why a new HC will be named soon.

multiple faliures to get to a local regional...not sure how anyone was surprised by the termination.

Just wrapped up episode 80 of Alive in Five with Gage Ausmus and Jordan Schmaltz. They are all in on Dane Jackson being the next coach and they say the boys in the locker room feel the same way.
