SiouxFan100 Posted December 17, 2023 Posted December 17, 2023 I feel bad for the moms of ndsu players Quote
forksandspoons Posted December 17, 2023 Posted December 17, 2023 How many seniors does ndsu lose? Guessing there will be a ton of transfers Quote
SiouxFan100 Posted December 17, 2023 Posted December 17, 2023 For all the bison forever crap money talks and I would think they lose a fair amount of talent to the portal Quote

Kinda sounds like it's gonna be Polacek. I believe the portal will get interesting. I also believe it would be the better hire for the long term (let's say 5 years). Quote

forksandspoons Posted December 17, 2023 Posted December 17, 2023 SU will lose most of its roster... Quote

Been a narrative for years and they keep bouncing back in the postseason time and time again. There’s support and expectations in place, which UND football is still trying to desperately grow (extending a coach after a losing season … my god). I hope NDSU doesn’t win another game for 50 years, but that’s my heart; my head says they’ll be back as good as ever (may not win it all but still dang good) again next year. Quote

Until I see it, I’ll assume every key player w/ eligibility returns. They’ve had minor speed bumps over the last decade plus, but it never truly compounds on each other. They lose a playoff game they were the better team, in unconventional fashion (penalties / ST’s). So hard for me to believe they’d now lose 3 to 4 key players to the portal as well. Quote

They graduate a good amount of starters. In the past I would totally agree with you but NIL is changing that. Kansas State, Northwestern and now USC will be knocking on their doors. And watch what happens if Roehl doesn’t get the job after all the players vouched for him. Quote

Agree on the never count them out part. I heard (on UND360 I believe) that they lost 30 from last year to this year. 11 graduated and 19 transfers. That's a big turnover and they went 2 OT for a chance to make the finals again. 1 Quote
The Sicatoka Posted December 17, 2023 Author Posted December 17, 2023 NDSU Twitter says Polasek. 1 Quote

But they are no longer the team to beat in FCS. South Dakota State is. And that drives their fans crazy. And that never ceases to amuse me. There is a reason Entz is moving to Southern California and it isn't just because of the weather and a big fat raise. Quote

Shawn-O Posted December 17, 2023 Posted December 17, 2023 Someone please enlighten me as to how NDSU manages to make external hires without a three-week job posting open records dog and pony show. I’ll hang up and listen. 4 Quote
1972 Posted December 17, 2023 Posted December 17, 2023 Polasek is an interesting hire....at first take, it looks like Ertz 2.0 Quote

I could see Eli Green getting some big offers. Other than the other known NIL offer guys I’m not sure who would get plucked from above. Quote
