I’ve seen enough of Berry in seven seasons time for a fresh face/approach. He had a preseason top ten team and worked it into a no home ice no ncaa team again , since 2002 we have been on the road twice for the league first round both under BB.

And since 2002 we've won one NCAA title, also under Berry. Along with the what if season of 2020. That paired with a 50 percent succes rate in winning the regular season title in the toughest league in college hockey.  Not sure what your expectations are but Berry's tenure has fallen largely in line with the programs history overall and hardly been some colossal failure.

If next season is like this season, it will be time for a change. Wisconsin went down the sewer fairly quickly and it could happen to us just as easily.

So missing the ncaa’s 3 times and one win after 2016 is ok with you because he wins league titles? Players come here for national titles.

They play a shutdown brand of hockey.  Will he change that philosophy with a different recruiting base?

That is the old Mankato. This year is down a little averaging 32 shots per game and 3.2 goals but the previous 5 seasons they were 4, 3.6, 4, 3.5, and 3.8 goals per game. They aren't just a clog up the neutral zone and play defense team, they get up and down and have had plenty of speed/skill.

Sounds like a coach we used to have whose initials were DB. :)

are you saying we would've won in 2020?

This year has been disappointing on so many levels. What I'll say is one of the things that is uniquely disappointing about this year is let's call it development for a handful of young, talented players. There are four underclassman all talented, that at different points in this season have been buried. Either scratched completely for large portions of the season or play so few minutes where the games played is deceiving.  I hope they don't, but I wouldn't blame any of the four for transferring out. This has been a year of lost development.

My personal opinion, and it's been something that has been frustrating to watch. Let's use #6 as it's the most obvious example. It would be one thing if the other 6 (or 7) defenseman were lights out. This is the same for the Forward group as well. There are a handful of locks in the line-up that I cannot believe are. The inconsistency is crazy to me. Player X makes a mistake and sits for the rest of the game, player Y makes the same mistake and doesn't miss a shift. Then makes it again.

Also, the mismanagement of the Goalie situation when there's only one legitimate D1 goalie on the roster was insane. Remember when DeRidder didn't play at all when Western was in town?

For me, not just the wins and losses. This has been a really bad season on so many levels.

Hard to say with hockey as a bad bounce can turn a game and in a 1 game eli mination that can end the season.

If i was a betting man, wait I am, I would have had UND at 2-1 to win the national title in 2020 and Cornell at 4-1 and the field at 20-1.

That was definitely a head scratcher.  If he wanted Johnson to get some action the week prior versus Lindenwood would have been the time to do it.  DeRidder had just played extremely well at Western and then doesn't touch the ice a couple weeks later....

I had 2020 as a coin flip: Cornell / UND

Dane Jackson is more "legacy Gino". That era/mindset of hockey had its day, but the game has moved on (see: DU, WMU).

Which again, he has won, ending the second longest drought in school history.  Decide what you want, winning titles or just making the tournament.  It's the same argument Red Sox and Yankees fans have had over the past 20 years.

That is a patently false choice. This is not an either/or, zero sum game. It is possible to make the tournament regularly AND win NCAA titles. If other schools can do it, so can we.
