From my understanding of the rules, I would think Arnell has a better chance at getting an extra year since he never redshirted and didn't pass the 30% threshold of games played the year he got hurt. Clive will have a harder time since the injury he got in 2015 wasn't technically season ending and he's asking for a 6th year. However you never know with the NCAA, they have made some strange decisions in regards to granting extra eligibility.

Kicker - Best man win.  Taubs was pretty mediocre last year.

Taubenheim was a Big Sky 2nd team all conference team selection.   That does not indicate mediocrity.

It indicates how bad the other kicker in the conference were apparently. Taubenheim had the worst season for a UND kicker I've seen in a long time

The stats above go back to 2007. 3 attempts over 50 yards in 3 years tells me all I need to know about what Taubenheim can do.

I wasn't aware of the 2nd team honors, just an opinion.  4 of 11 from 40+ yards and kick offs need more height and distance.  64% make percentage.  I expect better.

In regards to field goals, I don't recall that height or distance was the issue on most misses this year; longitutde was. Always wondered how much the cast on his arm most of the season affected his kicking, particularly his accuracy. Big drop-off this year in success from 40+.

A miss is a miss with field goals, the longer they are the more risk of a block because of trajectory.  

I am referring to height and distance in regards to Kick-offs and Kick-off coverage.  The more height and distance the more time the coverage team has to get down the field, get off blocks, make a tackle, preventing the other team from obtaining good field position and/or momentum.

Taubenheim does do a really good job of getting the ball up in a hurry. He struggles to drive through the ball though which is why he is absolute trash outdoors.

What are the general guidelines for medical hardship, have to have played less than a 1/3 of the season or something?  He only played 3 games that year.

Did he redshirt earlier in his career? If so,  I think that hurts his cause.
