homer Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 Really encouraged to see the athletes supporting each other. Big day for UND athletics yesterday. We sure we want to leave the Big Sky? 2 Quote
bincitysioux Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 Not much more I can add to this thread. One of the best games I recall in the history of the Alerus. Glad I was there to see it. Quote
siouxfan512 Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 Espn list attendance at 9049. is that right? if so, it's pretty disappointing . should have hit 10 for this game. Quote
Longtime fan Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 Post game thoughts: big sky champs!! 8-0!!!!! refs were absolutely terrible The offense needs for UND to receive a seed....really beat up UND is a much better 2nd half team.....every game this year brady needed to have at least 25+carries yesterday NAU is a very good team the crowd finally woke up in the 4th and it made a difference no sacks for the d but won the TO margin which was huge!! 9 game win streak!!!! Big Sky champs!!!! It has been a long time that UND has been relevant and the feeling of high fiving the players after the game......chilling ! Well done bubba 2 Quote

Caused a fumble on punt, did a nice job fielding and returning punts (let one get away from him) and his first catch really got us moving. Fun to see a team guy do so well. 1 Quote

Alex Reed brought energy yesterday when we needed a spark. It was on his reception with a couple broken tackles. He has been fun to watch this year and am glad to see his role expanding. Quote

We are going to need to turnover battle today and hit some timely passes in order to pull this one out. Defense needs to make some adjustments. Wow, that is EXACTLY what happened later in the game. 2 Quote

I get what you're saying but when the bar is on the ground it's pretty easy to step over it. Biggest game in UND's brief D1 era with a conference title on the line and the team couldn't get at a minimum of 10k to show up? By comparison NDSU had twice.....TWICE as many fans at the Dome yesterday. Take that in.......18276 compared to 9049. Quote

While I certainly understand people wishing the football crowd had been a bit larger yesterday given the circumstances, UND did have over 22,000 at its three home games on the day. 7 Quote

Successful teams have a pretty large fan base. Three years ago I was letting my five year old nephew take my three year old son to the bathroom at the Alerus at this point in the season because if they got lost, I would have heard them yell. Im not happy with attendance but also keep things in perspective when comparing to the most successful program currently in FCS. 2 Quote

I hope everyone is safe, no tall buildings to jump off into the 3rd quarter. Agreed. Couldn't watch game so I read through this thread instead. As the first half got worse pretty much everybody including coaches, players, and fans sucked. Nobody was doing their job. Then the big comeback in the 2nd half and UND was once again the gutty, gritty, leave no doubt bunch. A very entertaining read, and congrats to the team on their conference title! Quote

Tom Miller said on the radio UND has never had over 10k for a November game ever. My guess is yesterday was one of the best non NDSU regular season post deer opener crowds ever if not the highest. So you can either piss and mown at not having 12k or you can see the best non NDSU November crowd ever with a 30% increase over last years last game. To me those are some pretty big positive steps Bubba is making on the preception of UND Football. He is well on his way to making UND football games an event and the "thing to do." Takes time and you don't just snap your fingers and get 12k at games in November when it hasn't been done before. Take a chill pill and see the HUGE positive steps Bubba is making here. Your pot shots are about as bad as Kolprick and Dizzo when they talk UND. Can't get a positive UND comment in without some side negative comment or pot shot. Kolprick is more worried about our "ugly grey pants," than giving any positive thoughts to an undefeated FCS big sky team in his coverage area. Crowd was great yesterday and we won the big sky. I don't see any reason for a UND fan to be negative today. 17 Quote

That's pure gold right there considering I and my family were at the FB game.........and the VB match before it..........and the hockey game after it. There were 11900 at the Ralph last night for an early season conference game. The excuses from beet harvest to gun season to _______ are tiresome. This FB tean deserves better support, especially yesterday, regardless of all the excuses and enabling by you and others. If expecting fans to show up in the same numbers at this stage for a FB team playing for a conference title and a hockey team looking for a just win in the past 3 weeks is too much to expect so be it. This attitude of yours and others will probably cost UND a home playoff game if they are not a top 8 seed IMO. That would be a real shame. 1 Quote
sprig Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 Do season ticket holders get first shot at their seat for a playoff game? Quote
Sioux95 Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 Reed played a great game yesterday. I think we need to see him on the field as much as possible! 2 Quote
Cratter Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 It's going to be a long three weeks til UND plays again. Quote

Just curious, do you think your negative comments on here about attendance are actually helping anything? Do you think there are people on this site that didn't go to the game, who read your post and said to themselves......"ahhh damn Oxbow is right, I should have been at the game I guess I'm going to start going now". That's awesome that you were at the game and the hockey game and are a great supporter, we need more people like you but if you somehow think you are heroic by complaining on here about it, you're not. We would all like more people at the game, but constantly whining about it on a blog doesn't change anything. 6 2 Quote

I sit right next to someone with very close immediate ties to this program and he was very disappointed with attendance yesterday...and it's not the first time he has expressed his opinion towards that. Hopefully if and when UND hosts a playoff game this team can get the support they deserve. Is that negative enough for you? I can be less of an advocate for the attendance this team should be getting if that makes you happy. Guys like you and UNDBIZ probably would like that. Oh and to your last point neither does rioting about the results of an election......... 1 1 Quote
shep Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 I appreciate your passion for this topic, but I don't know that there's much we on this message board can do assuming most of us have tix and attend games. I would love to see more there, but having reflected on yesterday's comeback, I was thrilled with the noise in the Alerus yesterday in the 4th quarter. Maybe the fans we have are passionate enough to make up for a couple of thousand who weren't there. 2 Quote
