Goon Posted December 25, 2014 Posted December 25, 2014 https://twitter.com/kevphx83/status/547859381576929281 Maurice tweeting it. Awesome... Thanks for posting that. Quote
Nodak78 Posted December 25, 2014 Posted December 25, 2014 My thinking as well. Perhaps Ja'Won Arrington, who would be a welcome addition to Cedric Simmons and Olivera in the backfield.http://m.uabsports.com/m/sports/m-footbl/mtt/jawon_arrington_860145.html Don't forget Kyle Norberg. I don't know what his injury was but I like his heart. Also don't know if he would stay at running back or move back to LB. Quote
UNDBIZ Posted December 25, 2014 Posted December 25, 2014 Thought it was a dead period?? I think the rule is coaches can't initiate contact with recruits, but recruits can contact coaches. Quote
Nodak78 Posted December 25, 2014 Posted December 25, 2014 I would guess Arrington since it said Stallions - which makes me think RB. I would like to see Ja'Won come here and have a success at RB like Tillman did as CB. He has the tools. Quote
Sioux95 Posted December 26, 2014 Posted December 26, 2014 Do FBS players typically transfer at the end of the football season, or after spring ball? Seems like we would be more likely to see an FBS transfer after spring ball and I think that is when Hinojosa (spelling) came to UND. Not sure when Tillman and Jenkins-Moore came along. Can we assume that we might sign some FBS drop downs after spring ball/over the summer, and some scholarships will need to be saved for that possibility? Quote
CMSioux Posted December 26, 2014 Posted December 26, 2014 I would say that the change over from those that were on the field at the spring football game and the start of the season was at least 30% if not higher. I don't believe any of the FBS drop downs were at spring ball. Quote
Hambone Posted December 26, 2014 Author Posted December 26, 2014 Offeree Adam Brant is going to St Thomas. Quote
iramurphy Posted December 27, 2014 Posted December 27, 2014 Offeree Adam Brant is going to St Thomas. The Ag school trolls have a point if we are losing recruits we have offered to St. Thomas. Might be an academic scholarship deal but I'm not sure about this. Anyone else offer him? Quote

UND1983 Posted December 27, 2014 Posted December 27, 2014 If a kid passes up a PWO from Bucky and a partial from UND to go to St Thomas that tells me he really wanted to stay in the Cities. Quote
geaux_sioux Posted December 27, 2014 Posted December 27, 2014 If a kid passes up a PWO from Bucky and a partial from UND to go to St Thomas that tells me he really wanted to stay in the Cities. Didn't that really good LB go there instead of here a couple years ago? Redmond? Quote
bang Posted December 27, 2014 Posted December 27, 2014 Didn't that really good LB go there instead of here a couple years ago? Redmond? Joe Schobert I believe is who you're referring too. Quote
bang Posted December 27, 2014 Posted December 27, 2014 He played as true freshmen started this year as a sophomore. Quote
geaux_sioux Posted December 27, 2014 Posted December 27, 2014 Joe Schobert I believe is who you're referring too. No. I'm talking about a LB that went to St Thomas instead of UND. Or I think he went to st Thomas. Quote
UND1983 Posted December 27, 2014 Posted December 27, 2014 No. I'm talking about a LB that went to St Thomas instead of UND. Or I think he went to st Thomas. I think you are right. Redmond had a few offers from FCS schools and stayed home. The lure of the Cities. Quote
Siouxperman8 Posted December 27, 2014 Posted December 27, 2014 Didn't that really good LB go there instead of here a couple years ago? Redmond?that is right. He is a Minnetonka kid and I coached him a little bit in fb and baseball as a kid. Money isn't really a concern. Grandpa Redmond founded Redmond hair care and Aussie shampoo. Quote
fightingsioux4life Posted December 27, 2014 Posted December 27, 2014 Hasn't there been talk of St. Thomas moving their programs up to D-II or D-I? And is any of that serious? Quote

Might be an academic scholarship deal but I'm not sure about this. Anyone else offer him? Ag school trolls probably don't know much outside their 40 acres. St. Thomas is one of premiere private universities in the Midwest. It's a total package for student athletes who aren't just focused on playing football, some are drawn to the academics also. Quote
UNDBIZ Posted December 27, 2014 Posted December 27, 2014 Heard we weren't talking to him anymore.... Quote

Very true. I wouldn't get to bent out of shape of we lose a recruit here or there. Bubba knows what he's doing and he will get us the players we need. Quote

St. Thomas is an amazing private school and money wasn't an issue for him. Kind of refreshing to see kids thinking long term like that. Best of luck to him Quote
UNDvince97-01 Posted December 27, 2014 Posted December 27, 2014 So Palendech to UNLV, Snacks to Memphis, Golladay to Northern Illinois. Did I miss anyone? Nobody else offered Palendech, Edwards or Golladay out of high school though, so there is no way they were good recruits. All 3 of them were from the same signing day class. EDIT: sorry I forgot my purple font. Quote
