Who has been complacent?  It’s been a busy time in the last 10 days or so. The portal commits should fill some big holes. The Pilgrim commit is a great get.

You don't understand and I don't know if you're playing ignorant on purpose or just don't get it, but I'll humor you nonetheless.

We've won one NCAA game in the past seven years...against AIC....one.  Woopdeedoo.  We've missed three NCAA tournaments on merit since our title many years ago.  The Ralph is emptying and big time recruits are less interested in UND than ever since the new Ralph opened.  We used to get excited about all the first round picks we'd land, now we're excited about Carson Pilgrim...a very good player, but overly exaggerated only because the rest of Berry's recruits lately have been so lackluster.  Berry's accountability with the roster has led to an ENTIRE defense leaving all at the same time, both of our top goalies leaving at the same time, and a bunch of forwards on top of that.  It's normal to have the odd player or two leave earlier than expected, but it's not normal to lose that many kids at once unless you have someone incompetent running the program.  Because of incompetent roster management, the best we can do is pluck players from Alaska and Lindenwood.  Then, our head coach secretly trademarked a logo through various levels of anonymity and still got caught, only to have it swept under the rug.

We're the UNIVERSITY of NORTH DAKOTA.  We should be setting the f'ing standard with college hockey.  Instead, we've looked like a bunch of buffoons while Duluth and Denver are winning championships and the Goofs are playing in title games too.  I'm sorry you set the bar so low that you can't see anything but rainbows and tulips, but I have a higher standard for North Dakota hockey.

Quite the mix of assumptions, opinions and even what appears to be a false accusations or two mixed in with the commentary there.

Congrats on having opinions though! Typing alot or often doesn't make them more valid or accurate though. Nor does trying to rain what others see as positive developments after what were disappointing results this year.

What would you deem incorrect or false?

The defense:

- three guys out of time
- two guys sign professionally
- three guys portal out, guys who were obvious defensive liabilities

A month before season's end I told @stoneySIOUX I saw a 5% chance of needing 7 or 8D.
I based it on the above, and the pipeline, and this (like it or hate it) portal world.

I think Berry and his staff should get some praise, admitting there was issues and players weren’t playing up to their potential or recruited incorrectly. The staff is trying to right the ship, hoping we aren’t having these discussions next spring.

Don't expect a coherent response. He'll just repeat the same message using different words, then tell you to fire off an E-mail to someone at UND.

I like the players we have landed the past couple of weeks. But there remain serious issues surrounding this program that must be addressed sooner rather than later.

Not worth blowing up this thread even further since it has been beaten to death, but for starters, pretty serious accusations you're leveling regarding the NODAK trademark. According to your version, BB must have some crazy pull in the North Dakota Attorney General's office to get away with what you're accusing him of.

Don't you have some made-up things to rant about? Or are you still working on the arguments no one is making?

Totally agreed - but here's how things usually work around here - we will have a better season next year but not rise to the top - make the tournament but not go very far.  Then after a couple of so-so years with some success but not in the Frozen Four there will be a lot of grumbling on this thread and we will again come to the consensus that "next year will be a critical year for the hockey staff".

Geez, at least post spoiler alert for those of us that haven’t watched the next few seasons already. ;)

Grayden Slipec was 1st star tonight for Chicago with 2 goals and an assist with the absence of Celibrini.  Hopefully this is a sign of things to come for next year when he starts getting more ice time.

I assume Hedquist was injured last game, as he had saved 28 of 28 shots, and their other goalie finished the game stopping 10 of 11.  The other goalie is also playing tonight.

Hopefully, it’s not serious.

I've said it before: This is a critical year for the hockey staff.

It is in the eyes of the fans but not in the eyes of the school. I highly doubt the school "buys-out" Berry. Staff members will be let go before the school fires Berry.

Berry's contract (and I could just say any Mens Hockey Head Coach now and into the future)....

Will not be bought out by the University of North Dakota......

Ever.

Whether people think that good bad or indifferent is irrelevant.

I’ve never seen a buyout that wasn’t backed by booster money.
