I'm good with Pilgrim doing the before and after thing. Let the kid be a kid when he's still in HS if that's his choice.

Amen.

Mac Swanson scored his first USHL playoff goal last night although the Fargo Force lost to the Lincoln Stars 4-3.

Jayden Perron scored his fourth USHL playoff goal last night for Chicago as the Steel lost to the Youngstown Phantoms 4-1. Jake Livanavage had one of the assists on Perron's goal.

Perron looks very Blake-like on this play...spins away from the defender near the blue line, then weaves around two more defenders before finding Emerson camped out in front for the tap-in goal.
Emerson from Perron...hopefully we see that combo on the stat sheet a few times next season.  :)

Let’s go! Strathmann with a goal in the game as well.

He does, but boy, he won't find that kind of time and space that close in against most NCAA teams.

Blake has more grit.

Unless you see Perron consistently, don’t know how you can make that determination.  Also, to me grit means playing well at both ends of the ice, and judging by the plus/minus, Blake has work to do on that part of his game before he is ready to get to the next level.  Thankfully, both of them are very young and it is common to have some parts of their game to work on when they come in so young. That is what is so exciting about both players, is that they have plenty of room for growth, and from their starting point that bodes very well.

We wouldn’t know.
The good thing is these young guys have talent, and what seems to be a great passion for the game, a great work ethic and the potential to be outstanding college players.

UND commits in USHL playoff games tonight...

In Youngstown's 4-1 win over Chicago, Michael Emerson had a goal for Chicago and Andrew Strathmann had an assist for Youngstown. Also Jayden Perron (CHI) had a roughing penalty. Don't mess with Jayden.

In Fargo's 8-4 win over Lincoln, Mac Swanson had a goal and two assists.

Yep, most of the news has been focused on Perron but Strathmann and Swanson playing really well right now from a production standpoint. Great to see.

Swanson having a super good year.
