Are these scholarship or non-scholarship guys?

Per their own tweets last year, it looks like Moe-Tucker was a PWO and Ledbetter just mentions being "offered."  Unclear if scholarship or PWO on that offer.

Best of luck to those guys!  Now let’s hit the portal for another Tank Harris type body on the line and another Hoos for ‘23.

Could use some sort of safety help too. Maybe there is a decent grad transfer out there. Kaup is just too much of a liability. Buckner seems so slow out there. I'll be interested to see if any of the new guys can step up, but that position needs some serious help.

Thanks! Clearly understand a PWO type of portal entry, someone who is going to transfer down. We'll see if this is the case with Ledbetter as well. I would have to imagine, as it's tough to move laterally or up with no tape.

Well, it's officially hold your breath time. Winning the portal is so important. One could argue almost as important as regular HS recruiting. Guys are going to enter from every team. It's hoping you don't lose any impact or potential impact guys. Guys that are buried on the depth chart.

That’s why (in my opinion) offenses and defenses need to play guys (especially with up ceilings) in games even if it is to burn a redshirt. The 40 plus carry days of Phillip Moore are gone. Hard for athletes to stay 2-3 years and play scout team and hope to see the field in jr or sr year.

Coaching success is no longer recruiting but also maintaining rosters and building relationships with kids who may go elsewhere (so if they enter the portal they may want to go to the school that showed genuine interest). It will be interesting which coaches adapt and those who do not.

To Buckner's defense, isn't learning the safety position at UND pretty challenging? He's been playing more and better as the season goes on as he's learning. I think that's overall, an important thing to note. Buckner / Wilson / Ogbu. These guys have been getting better as the year has progressed. A transfer might have experience and will be more physically mature, but they are still brand new to the team and the systems. Some positional groups would be easier to transition into than others.

Random thought but do any of our guys have any NIL deals?? NIL plays just as much of an impact in the transfer portal as anything else. And it will continue to play an even bigger factor as the years go on. Not sure exactly how you would go about getting guys deals but I'd assume it would have to be Bubba building connections with local business owners trying to get guys deals. Chaves helping get guys deals??  Just a thought.

As I understand the University can't be involved.

Interesting. I did not know that. I know other schools, for example Jamestown at the NAIA level has had a 'non-profit NIL collective group' set up that helps the athletes get NIL deals. That must be why. Does UND have any such committee?

I think it's safe to assume every team is going to lose at least a few guys each year. Out coaches need to hit the portal hard to bring in 5 - 7 guys who can make a difference and fit the culture.

Bison list another to the portal.  Gronella

Gonella was one of the 3 yesterday. He just officially tweeted it today.  They had a Rfr enter today to make it the 4th one. A DB named Pascoe. I don’t think he had played at all or possibly some special teams.

Sign him up...   can't be hard to paint the green to a prettier shade,  the piss yellow may not cover as easy...  but not like you are trying to make an 'SU gal learn how to use indoor plumbing.

Get Sigle up here while you're at it.

Maybe that is all it is, but in general he just looked slower when he was running. Maybe it is because he looks like a big dude. Obviously hopes he is ready to go next year. We need any help and improvement we can get.
