SWSiouxMN Posted October 2, 2022 Posted October 2, 2022 I don't know if this gets talked a lot, but Smith has some really good hands for a running back. The screen game with him was really good yesterday. Maag is starting to put things together, had another good game. This will only help the offense going forward if he keeps this up. Defense took a step forward in the 2nd half, now they need to build off of that. 3 Quote

Keeps the defense honest ! Worked today! This is the best post I've seen to date with a positive twist to possibly the worst call in UND FB history (must remember it took forever to snap the ball). Our upback on KOR moved up away from that kick and our deep back didn’t get up in time to secure the kick before it hit the ground. That isn’t a coaching mistake, it’s a player mistake. Overall our special teams play has been good this year. "good" gets you 6 wins and watching the playoffs on the sofa one the differences yesterday was our kicker made his kicks and theirs didn't...but it shouldn't be where we are absolutely shocked that a d1 kicker makes a 45 yard field goal.... if msu scores a td on that first drive of the second half we more than likely lose this game...a fg even would've been huge for msu. doesn't change the fact that that play is unbelievably bad/embarrasing.... BarnWinterSportsEngelstad Posted October 2, 2022 Posted October 2, 2022 We need to learn how to win on the road, starting against Youngstown. It's important, winning on the road (with Hawks Nest W's) = good record = curing some of the other stuffffff. 1 2 Quote

SiouxFan100 Posted October 2, 2022 Posted October 2, 2022 Nice that our kick receive team’s mess up didn’t cause us to lose the game correctable mistakes and we still win are concerning but not terminal Quote

Really deep insight there. Starting to think the reason we can't have nice things is because there's people that actually don't want them. They'd be lost if they couldn't sh*t all over everything. And there's a difference between understanding the team didn't play a perfect game and has plenty to work on vs. some of the dead horses that are continually beat around here. 4 Quote

Nodak78 Posted October 2, 2022 Posted October 2, 2022 This game against MSU was a scary game after the debacle in SIU. Really glad the team flush it. I wish the fan base had but understand why. Just looking at this one game w/o knowing anything about the previous games or the schedule ahead this season for both teams. Hard to separate I know. UND battles hard all the way. This team is much more resilient then other teams in the recent past. Looking forward I really like are chances. Last time UND was homecoming against UNC. 2017. The game plan worked on Sat. lets shut down YSU run game and win the game. Quote

Sioux94 Posted October 3, 2022 Posted October 3, 2022 How good was that catch that Red made along the sidelines but got called back by penalty. He can obviously catch, so I think we have a burner type right now should Danny choose to send him deep a few times to try and stretch the defense. 2 Quote

No one else is shocked. You keep posting nonsense about Kostich. (A guy who was respected for his work at Minnesota before coming to UND). Our special teams play has been very good this year and our special teams recruiting just got a commitment from an outstanding kicker from Fargo South. Somehow you have reached the conclusion based on a players mistake not only is Kostich to blame but you have continually posted he should be replaced. When our special teams have had a bad game you have wanted him fired, but when they are playing well you have changed to wanting him gone for one bad play. 1 3 Quote
