Hopefully just the two.
Popular Post SiouxForever Posted December 2, 2020 Popular Post Posted December 2, 2020 2 players kneeling tomorrow and ahem’ are Canadians and not Americans is a bad idea. I respectfully don’t support this. You want change, use your minority view in a different way. Not this for change. 6

yzerman19 Posted December 2, 2020 Posted December 2, 2020 Who is kneeling? weatherby and who else? I respect their right to do it...just disappointed

1972 Posted December 2, 2020 Posted December 2, 2020 I'm not going to get political on this, don't need the ban hammer, but, at this point I don't understand how people don't see that the only thing kneeling does is piss people off... actually, it completely buried your cause in the uproar. Not smart
Popular Post SiouxFanatic Posted December 2, 2020 Popular Post Posted December 2, 2020 People not happy about players kneeling during the anthem yet so many fans have zero issue shouting “home of the Sioux” instead of home of the brave which many people(non-UND fans) find disrespectful. I personally don’t care that most fans do it nor do I care about the kneeling. It is what it is. /shrug 2 14 2

It still exists today so don’t say it didn’t. Kneeling during the anthem will never merit that or become a tradition. Bank on that. 4 2
dmksioux Posted December 2, 2020 Posted December 2, 2020 Losing all the sports teams I’m used to following. Stopped following pro sports, now check the hockey team off my list. Down to Basketball, vb and football. Sad that people feel this is the best way to make a statement. 1 2

yzerman19 Posted December 2, 2020 Posted December 2, 2020 Do a lot more good to condemn racism as a team with a video statement or something. 4

They are young and naive, what can you do. It’s like thinking kneeling for the National Anthem could stop fighting in hockey thus reducing violence in society as a whole. The thing we were worried about with Miller taking the focus off of the team is now happening with this. They actually just put a little more scrutiny on themselves, as if they don’t play well their focus will be in question. Be interesting to know if they planned on doing it with fans in the house. Would imagine they would get booed heartily.
Popular Post NoiseInsideMyHead Posted December 2, 2020 Popular Post Posted December 2, 2020 I'm reminded of going to church as a Catholic. As rote as many of the traditions of Mass are, including the predictable collective standing, kneeling, etc., I can recall several parishioners who would genuflect or kneel while others were standing, or who would bow their heads at different times. Even when taking communion, some do a sign, others genuflect right there at the altar, and some did both, while many others did nothing. Nobody ever said "Boo" about it, including my hyper-Catholic, nun-trained, Mass-every-day father. It was their thing. Their relationship with God. Who was anyone to question it. If you respect people's rights to worship and practice religion with individual variation, rather than blindly following along with the crowd, how can you begrudge some people who want to observe the national anthem with a solemn, non-disruptive display? Would you next take after people who choose not to sing, or mouth the words, or shuffle on their feet, or who look positively disengaged and detached? Maybe the only solution is to eliminate the anthem from most public gatherings altogether. 1 8 1
SiouxForever Posted December 2, 2020 Posted December 2, 2020 Kneeling has caused more divide and made people more upset. It’s a weak tactic. Change and use a different method imo humble/respectful opinion. 7 3

Change and use a different method imo humble/respectful opinion. With all due respect, most of the angst about the rioting, protesting, and looting was not that the idiots shouldn't have had the right to demonstrate or display (in fact, the overwhelming public sentiment was exactly that), but that they simply chose the wrong tactic, the wrong method, and the wrong venue. Assuming that you're on board with freedom of expression, would you place quietly kneeling during an anthem on the end of the spectrum closest to - or furthest from - burning down a Target? 3 1

The MM thread was locked weeks ago. Whatever was left of that horse was reduced to bloody pulp.
