WH Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany never complained about the T gatherings, may never used the word super spreader before?  Take the blinders off.

Hypocrisy on both sides, can you at least admit to that?

Out of curiosity, how many on here predicted that Covid would become a non-issue after the election?

asking for a friend...

You mean like the announcement of pfizer having a 90% effective vaccine a week after the election? Yeah, the covid response in our country hasn't been political at all.

Also, the election isn't technically over yet. So to say, see I told you, is a bit premature.

Walz to announce a more "surgical" dialback/restriction plan tomorrow to combat the fact masks are not doing the trick in MN.

Have to disagree. As a Trump voter/anti-Harris voter, it’s all over but the shouting. Too much fraud to be able to prove enough to change the outcome.

I'm not saying the result will be different, I'm saying that an election isn't over until the electors have officially made their selection.

Pfizer vaccine was just shown to be 90% effective in recent trial and is looking to it roll out by month's end. If there is one thing Trump can do before he leaves office it's get an effective vaccine out to the public. Biden won't even consider  a vaccine until it's 100% effective......just like the flu shot??? Similar to wanting zero cases in his mind. I see he put Osterholm on his Covid19 advisory board....wasn't he the one advocating a couple  months ago for another national 6 week lockdown? Any effective vaccine will be kicked down the street by the Biden administration because then the Democrat party as a whole loses power on the ignorant people who think government should control everything.

What the vaccine news this morning does is really stick a dagger in the extraordinarily stupid idea, advanced by some (cough, Sikatoka) that COVID is just going to run roughshod over the country until herd immunity is reached and we shouldn't really do much to restrict the spread.  News that the potential vaccine is promising and not in the far distant future should compel people to buckle down and avoid spread as much as possible.

Pfizer's vaccine is more difficult to roll out (two doses, needs to be kept in cold storage), but it is good news for the similar types of vaccines that are being worked on.

Two weeks to flatten the curve...

How does the potential of an effective vaccine somehow nullify the idea that Covid needs to make its way through the society for society to return to normal?

First of all, it's "potentially" effective. Second, how many people do you think will realistically line up to be guinea pigs for the fastest developed vaccine in the history of the world? My guess is it will be minimal.

Are you serious?  We want to stop COVID from making its way through society.  That's the point of a vaccine.

Retired Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice Michael Gableman, told local radio station 1130 WISN this week that the statute is "very, very clear. If an absentee ballot does not have a witness address on it, it's not valid. That ballot is not valid." The Dan O'Donnell Show, meanwhile, claimed that the Wisconsin GOP "estimates that thousands of witness addresses may have been changed."

Vaccine-can see the light at the end of the tunnel is very encouraging. I hesitate to say the announcement timing was political.

let some of the election lawsuits run its course and we will see what’s under some stones. I think it is over but there will be some ugliness and light shown on how we can improve the process.

I hope it is over within 10 days. Not optimistic though.

Curious if you actually have any source about Biden and his response to a vaccine (100% efficiency or kicking it down the road)? Or just partisan complaining?

Probably also fair to point out that Pfizer's breakthrough was not part of Operation Warp Speed and they took no federal funding. They did sign a distribution agreement, however that didn't influence how quickly Pfizer was able to do this. Regardless, good news, particularly looking at the markets today.

So they are part of warp speed with the distribution.

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the Department of Defense (DoD) today announced an agreement with U.S.-based Pfizer Inc. for large-scale production and nationwide delivery of 100 million doses of a COVID-19 vaccine in the United States following the vaccine’s successful manufacture and approval. The agreement also allows the U.S. government to acquire an additional 500 million doses.

The federal government will own the 100 million doses of vaccine initially produced as a result of this agreement, and Pfizer will deliver the doses in the United States if the product receives Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) or licensure from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), as outlined in FDA guidance, after completing demonstration of safety and efficacy in a large Phase 3 clinical trial.

I am serious. Vaccinations aren't 100% effective at stopping transmission of a disease and even if they were a very small percentage of our population will get this vaccine in the next six months. Whether that is because they choose not to get it or it isn't widely available in all areas.

Use Influenza as your baseline. Does the vaccine stop Influenza from making it's way through our population each year? Nope.

This graph would be nearly perfectly inverted if you ran it in May/June. It's just burned through those states on the left already.

They made a business decision to not accept any money so they could more quickly get passed some govt check points in place for those that accepted money.

One could still make the argument that while they did not accept money for development,  the Warp Speed program still pushed them to find a solution quickly to profit.  Especially agreeing to $2 billion contract in July.

Exactly.  Without the agreement to have a sale for the vaccine would have made for a slow development of the vaccine.

The vaccine was always part of herd immunity.  Please tell me how the virus is transmitted and if the mask is so great how does it spread in LCF that have the best masks.

Fargo Billards and Gastropub to close.

That’s a bummer. No new business will overtake that building with the current state of affairs.

They had an awesome outdoor volleyball league/hangout.

More newer restaurants to close in Fargo soon I would imagine.

Correct, the government contracted to purchase the vaccine if they were able to development something. But Pfizer did not take federal funding to back R&D or manufacturing like every other drug company. This was intentionally done by the company to stay away from any political influence or strings attached.
