This is one of the first things I've seen about the duration of being contagious once symptomatic. If this is validated, or more studies are able to be done, that would definitely make it easier to know when patients could return to assisted living/ long term care.

Curious.  If this were to hold true, wouldn't that also mean that it wouldn't be necessarly for someone to be in quarantine for 14 days?  Instead focusing on 11 days?

Going to 11 would lessen the chance of someone slashing their own wrists with the GINSU knives they just bought off of QVC 5 weeks ago.

Not GF but relatively close to home.

"about 10% of what we projected" hospitalizations wise at this point.....another model way off.

Yet the resorts at Lake of the Woods are currently serving breakfast outside...... mosquito nets not included.

The hydroxychloroquine will help with both the covid and malaria.

The 14 days and 11 days are looking at two different aspects of the disease.

14 days is from exposure to development of infection.  Most likely infection develops by day 6 or 7, but can go up to 14 days.  That's where the quarantine guidelines come from.

The 11 days is looking at how long someone is contagious once infected.  Right now CDC guidelines are based on symptom resolution and negative diagnostic tests.  But if this study holds true, it means someone would no longer be contagious after 11 days, even if they are still symptomatic at that point.

Gotcha, that makes sense.

Well according to Fauci hydroxychloroquine is not an effective treatment for COVID.

It's clinically proven to actually increase the chances of death.   One would think that would be enough for people, especially someone who claims to be a doctor, but since Trump says it's good that's better than all of the clinical data proving otherwise.

Another completely ignorant statement from you.

We’re close to 74,000 dead now in Minnesota, right?  How is that “clinical data” working out for Tim Walz?

The data told him to move patients into long term care facilities to save their lives but kill the people that live there.  Let's see how it works out.....

I don’t know who the hell Walz is listening to but he needs to wake up.

8 people dead in Memorial Day weekend traffic accidents in Minnesota.  Better shut down the state highway and interstate system for two weeks to flatten the curve.

Forbes article about nursing homes...

Instead of the Chinese Coronavirus, it should be known as the Nursing Home Coronavirus.

Flattening the curve, straightening out hills.

Someday the economy might get ‘em but the virus never will.

Even though social distancing was thrown out the window with those rioting and looting in MSP at least those participating are wearing masks. That has to make Walz smile.

Another 2.12M jobless claims last week.

Nothing to see here......the number just keeps growing. Let's keep flattening the curve.

So have you started prescribing insulin for your non-diabetic patients yet?  I mean Trump is thinking about doing it so it must be OK, right?
