UC Davis doesn’t get a lot of love for an FBS win. Northern Arizona at least got ranked but had to blew out their FBS foe.

What’s the reason for that?

costs...imagine if alcorn state had to play in fargo one week and somehow won and then had to play in grand forks the next....the would be bankrupt...plus the "bowl" games they can play in around the holidays draw tens of thousands

The NCAA covers all playoff travel/expenses.

u cut off the last part saying that they make a boatload off their phony "bowl" games...without their "bowl" games those two conferences would be d2 (which is where they belong)

and are you sure it's all the rounds? i thought it was only for the two teams that make it to the title game in frisco?

I could be wrong, bit I believe it is bidding process for the first round.  After that, the NCAA helps out with costs.....

NCAA covers all rounds of travel for the playoffs, which is part of the reason they regionalize and try to save themselves money. Each round has a minimum bid, which the host is responsible for if ticket sales fall short.

The MEAC/SWAC conferences each get $1 million to split however among their 11/10 teams and at least one gives over half to the participant so the schools aren't exactly killing it unless they make the game. Those conferences participating in the playoffs is a net positive overall but "costs" because they were "losing" money participating in the playoffs isn't why they don't participate. It's been years since the SWAC participated (ever maybe?) and the MEAC dropped out when the Celebration Bowl started in 2015, likely since their teams weren't doing anything anyway and this was a better look.

Before any Hawk fans get excited, we will not be in the top 25 in any polls.  More like 25-30 range.  We just need to take care of business one game at a time. Daybyday.

I disagree, I think we get in somewhere....even if it's 24 or 25.  Although if we don't...we don't.  Our next two games are winnable and hope we will be 4-1 going into the Montana game.

This is why its important to be constantly good for a few years...where you start the year helps where you end the year.

7-4 Could be 10th or 20th depending on what your historical data says about you.

I’m expecting und to be ranked but would not be surprised if they’re left out.   Beating a top 5 team in their house,  losing to a top 10 fbs team in their house and a 2-1 deserves a hard look as far as I’m concerned.  Just win out

UNI will drop out of the polls when they receive their 7th loss of the season.
