Cratter
I could go for an outdoor hockey game in this weather.
Big Green
They are 100% correct. They take a home game move it to a smaller arena that they have to rent that is a 3hr flight away. No wonder we have budget issues. 1

It got to the point where Craig Bohl refused to come on with him because of some things he said on the radio.
runaroundsioux
Someplace warm. Watching hockey in shorts is neat.

We would have the same amount of home games whether they played this game or not. The same complaint the Bison fans cried about with Target Field and it's not true, according to whoever was interviewed on the radio (don't remember who it was). "They don't lose a home game with destination games" NCAA is the NCAA...Isn't it?

McFeely changes his stances depending on which way the wind blows and which view will get him more clicks. He's been pretty solidly behind NDSU since moving back to the Forum. Case in point, his response to SFI that he doesn't necessarily think that athletics should take on the same cuts as academics with the current budget cuts. True and great point, but isn't 'growing the sport' part of the reason for destination games and why they are not being played in the same building (s) they always play in?

UNDBIZ
Minneapolis, Chicago, Denver, Dallas, Orlando, Phoenix, Vegas, LA, or Tampa Bay. If there aren't direct flights to the city from ND, don't do it, IMO.
WiSioux
I think that destination games are also excellent for alumni. I live in Colorado and went to the NYC game and it was great! I haven't been to NYC in 17 years and it was great to see again. Plus all the Christmas decorations were cool.
siouxfaninseattle
I really don't know how a game in Seattle would go. It's kind of hard to find college hockey fans here, and Key Arena is not a good arena. ShoWare Center seats about 6,500 - probably not big enough. Comcast Arena (in Everett) would work OK and seats about 10,000. And the weather during hockey season sucks. Not a great college hockey destination.

Frozen4sioux
1) It's not just about growing the sport but also growing the visibility of the program for recruiting. 2) Outdoor games are way overdone....and the college only outdoor game is hopefully a thing of the past..... However UND playing in an outdoor game as part of a NHL Winter Classic event???? Now it's a party. 3) Toronto. Marquee match up with a BU or BC or an (at some point in future improved Michigan).. or a 4 team weekend 2 NCHC 2 B1G or Hockey East FRI UND vs BU BC vs UMTC SAT UND vs BC. UMTC vs BU 4) One step further ..Montreal....oh geeze Sioux fans loose in the clubs of Montreal could be ......uffda. 5) Washington DC
NeedHockey
Orlando would be great! Warm, direct flights, beaches close, Disney World, Universal, SeaWorld, Kennedy Space Center, and of course, hockey.
GoalieMask
New Orleans would be one place I would love to visit with fellow UND fans. I am not sure if the Pelicans Arena is configured for ice or not, though. Sioux fans, in the French Quarter? If that don't make you whistle Dixie I don't know what will. Do it.
